Why people still USE ACT knowing their breaking TOS ??

It's a legal document, so I doubt they purposely included vagueness. They are just, as you say, choosing to not enforce it selectively.

I think its actually worded vaguely and broadly to give them latitude as they see fit. In a lot of cases, being overly specific can actually open up unintentional loopholes that they cant enforce against because they outline what you can and cant do to specifically. A hypothetical example would be if they said "You are not allowed to use the ACT Parser with FFXIV". It is a very specific thing, but what if there was a parser called "BPE" (Best parser ever). Well its not ACT, so therefore you arent violating the ToS. I know that the spirit of the ToS is to be against parsers, but you dont write it to target a specific action, you write it to be broad and vague to encompass a large enough concept so you can enforce as you see fit.

But beyond that, yeah, they enforce it as they see fit.

100% false. The parsers are all made by 3rd party. There have NEVER been an official parser in game, either made by Trion or endorse by Trion officially. What Trion did was officially allow 3rd party programs, and this included not only parsers but things like KAruul Alert or King Boss Mods. The creator of KBM and his wife are actual personal friends of mine. Like I said, I've played Rift since launch and raided pretty seriously in 2 expansions so you can't BS your way past me on this.

It's okay, you don't have to remember, I wish I didn't remember either, being forced onto Bard because Sabs got absolutely gutted because a loud minority were screaming about the Dummy parses is something I'd rather forget that happened too.

Yes there is an official parser. It's called the PvP results screen and seeing how much damage you actually did, taken, and healed at the end of the match.

Lmao! PVP results? From the warfronts? You know FF14 has the same thing right? After every frontline match FF14 shows damage to Pcs, damage to others, damate taken, hp restored, kills, deaths, etc. You think because of that FF14 has an official parser as well?

Seeing streamers using these on their stream and also non raiders (group parties/dungeons) maybe ffxiv need to add their own version of parsing to remove need of addons/plugins ???

It's become too ingrained in the culture at this point and I won't be surprised if some of the developers also used it when playing ff14 in their free time
