"Adjust waist" button for body gear

4 years ago, Patch 3.3 Notes (Full Release) added this:
A new button for adjusting headgear has been added to the Character window.
This new button will manually adjust visors on select gear in the same manner as the /visor text command.
    * The adjust visor button has also been added to the gear set preview, try on preview and item dyeing preview windows. Adjust visor also appears as a checkbox in the Character Configuration interface.
    * In accordance with this change, help text for the /visor text command has been revised.
Could it be possible we get a button that acts the same way with the waist part of body armor?

    For example:
    Pagos Shirt
    Thavnairian Bolero

Those body armor have waist parts that are not linked to the chest parts. Hide/show these waist parts wouldn't feel uncanny.
On the other hands, depending on what is used as other armor parts, these waist parts can look either nice or uncanny.

    EDIT:
Players, Feel free to post all the body armor for which you would have liked to benefit from such an option, indicating what you would have liked to hide and why.
Should it help getting this option and get from it "better" alternatives.

I'd love to get rid of a lot of the random accessories, sashes. butt capes, whatever that ruin otherwise good tops. So many are like that. SE just kind of has a thing with overdoing it.

This would be an interesting option to be sure, and could lead to more glamour variety. On a technical level, it could also help to some degree with the clipping problems that FF14 is (in)famous for by allowing players to just "turn off" the offending parts since extra stuff at the waist is one of the worst offenders.

Not sure if it's even feasible but I'd love this option. There are quite a few tops that would fit some of my glams perfectly if not for some huge obnoxious accessory hanging off my hip and clipping horribly or flailing about when I run.

It'd be nice, but there would have to be a lot more model changes than you think. Some pants models would have to have their own attributes adjusted, as some (think the Quaintelle's or however you spell it skirt) change models depending on the top you wear. This is due to attributes given to model meshes.

I'm sure there's a way they can do it (some head pieces extra bits just vanish so a toggable attribute?) and there isn't /that/ many pants that I'm aware of that do that (The only ones I can think of are that skirt, the Yaefami caster/healer pants, and the lv70? PLD AF) but it might take a lil longer than one thinks.

But if they only do it to models that have split waist/chest sections, it may not be so bad, as there aren't as many of those vs splitting a lot of tops.

I'd love it, but, as far as i remember, /visor (and the underlying bit of server data to register its state) exist since 2.0. What you've quoted is just an UI addition.
What you're asking for involves increasing character server data size, which they're very reluctant to touch (especially data about character display, it's possible it has never been expanded since 2.0. It's risky to increase it because it's communicated to every nearby players and can easily have a noticeable effect on bandwidth)

If the devs decide to do something, they'd probably just release new version of these equipments without the waist.

agreed, this should be a good thing to come, but it should not only to the stuff you mention, but it should be too for some belts, for example the anemos gambison belt(and others what shares the same model), is one of the belts i hate the most(whit that oversized knife lol)

This would be cool. My biggest gripe with this is Squall’s jacket. What the Hell is that black cloth hanging off the side?! Completely useless and dumbfounding. Who would just walk around with a piece of long cloth hanging off the side like that and call it fashion? Seriously!
