Gold Saucer could make for a fantastic venue for sure and they already showed that they can make multiple different instance when things are expected to be very crowded (showed during SHB's release). They could bring old moggle trove rewards, old event rewards that are no longer available and some new reward that could be won with MGP or a new exclusive currency to the event. That way the dev cost/time wouldn't be as high as a new area with a lot of brand new rewards. The show could be prerecorded and displayed on a board like what PSO2 does in it's lobby or something similar.

Well, an in-game fan fest sounds like the perfect excuse to celebrate a reinauguration of the Milvaneth Sacrarium. With big magitek screens made by the Ironworks

I'd rather just watch some videos and read some articles. The game isn't well suited to hosting large events for various reasons.

FanFests are primarily the work of SE employees who aren't members of the dev team along with outside vendors.

To put together an ingame FanFest. the developers would have to stop working on the rest of the game so they could focus on making the FanFest instead. Even if they'e using existing game assets like the Gold Saucer, they'd have to create other assets, dialog, program NPC animations and pathing, etc.

I'd rather see them working on the rest of the game and some other solution found for FanFest.

I'm also guessing many of you have never joined a large hunt train. Even with only 100 players in the train, FPS and latency start becoming nightmares. Other players and creatures randomly stop rendering, spell effects can't be seen, sometimes the player feels like they can't even move their character.

An ingame FanFest would be the exact same mess on a much larger scale.

They might be looking for digital solutions but those are more likely to be the usual streaming and possibly some interactive online tools than anything in game.

When reading into the possibility of looking into how to hold the event digitally my mind instantly went to the online nature of Final Fantasy XIV itself. What if the fanfest could be held in the game itself? With that thought in mind I began thinking through how something like that might work.

    1) A new area: Fanfest Hall
    2) PVP arena
    3) Fans could submit art that could be placed on interactive wall points that could be clicked to view.
    4) A main hall area could be setup for live stream where cutscenes could play for anyone in the area.
    5) Gold saucer style minigames could be setup
    6) Special npc vendors could be available for limited time ingame items
    7) Set as a dungeon instance or each server have instanced zones to prevent overcrowding?
Can we collaborate please? I want to do this too. I have my own ideas including hosting webcasts at rp venues and players doing irl cosplay videos. I also put this idea before the head of a major DC Discord who organizes special events on the Primal DC and I am awaiting her response. I am also friends with the player who hosts the YouTube channel "A Recipe Reborn". I could ask her if she wanted to do a live FF14 culinarian stream.

I also thought doing such an event for charity. There is a charity that I have been a part of for a few years but I was planning on giving up. But this situation has given me new inspiration. Get back to me, I would really like to work together.
