i live in japan and
we have the same problems with lag here
tough it might depend on how straight your ISP is connecting to the servers
or its a router setting problem but i would like to hear about such concrete stuff from
actual network specialists...

my japanese ISP seems to be crap (JCOM)
my NA friends usually know whats in the loot 2sec before it appears in mine...
