Are you seriously comparing speed to Japan with speed to a local server? Either you're an absolute amateur, an idiot, or you're trolling.

Just to show the difference between playing on a NA server, and a JP server. The latency and download speed is totally different.

This is what server latency would be at or around if there were a NA server


This is what NA players deal with since there's only a JP server for all of XIV


You tell me that 4x's more latency, and more then 11.5x slower download speed doesn't = a slower NA response to play XIV, then I'd like you to defend the numbers.

Edit. Also before a troll says that's not a good internet connection, I don't lag on WoW, SC2, BF3, Any CoD, GW, nor SW:ToR. And on full graphics also, with no UI lag.

I love people who instantly jump to immature, childish insults; who then in turn accuse people of being trolls.

I was merely listing what I was using setup-wise, and my internet connection saying that I too, experienced the same issue. Trying to imply that the issue does not lie within Internet Connection speed.

A NA server would be nice. It'd cut down on the server lag, and rid any latency issues that NA players have.

There is a SE NA division, and why there wasn't a NA server put in place to also represent the SE NA division is really a "head scratcher"

With that being said, making NA/EU players wait till 2.0 for a server that should have been turned on at release, makes it really irritating to know that a server could be put in place now. It's not that they can't do it, it's that they are refusing to do it, just to avoid having to do a little bit of work. They could have done it and put it into place with the recent "Merger", which is what will be done in 2.0. Another Merger for the new server...

edit: my post remembers brief instances of a very responsive interface for a few play sessions back in October 2010/November 2010 timeframe. But I don't think I've quite experienced that UI responsiveness since then.

A 16 minute AV is run is very possible in NA.
We often do sub 20 min runs, and in none of those has everything gone exactly right.
So many places where time could be shaved off.

Didn't say a AV speed run isn't possible. Because it is. But not a 16 min speed run. As you just said, you haven't done it yourselves.
