In russia there is a vaccine next month, in the rest of the world several stage 3 trials have their results towards end of the year (5 months left). General treatment options are better now too. Do we have to wait till the whole world is vaccinated before auto demolishing of houses is turned on again? Or do we have to wait till everyone has a job again? SE made their point by doing it, which is fine, but there has to be an end to it at some date.

There are soooooo many empty houses since months...

Likewise tell me another game that gives 2 cents about players experiencing hardships in real life and have the decency to give back a little to the players who may be struggling. You are saying that your need for a virtual house is more important than people's need to be able to financially support their well being and not come back to grief months from now, a problem that many have complained about on the forum during non-pandemic/auto-demo-off periods. Stop being selfish.

I actually have a house, I just meet many new and old people who would like one too. And they cant since half a year and I feel sorry for them, because there are dozens if not hundreds offline houses nobody uses anymore. If you cant pay a sub by now or have the time for it, you probably shouldn't play a video game anyway, as there are more pressing things.
Like housing is a part of the game, it shouldn't be static, if they know this takes years to solve and go back to normal, they should try to find an alternative solution for the period. As they didn't make an announcement for this patch, it means its at least another 3 months + 45 days. That is plenty of time to give all the new players that they so desperately want a solution.

I'm fairly new to the game and have now settled down in an appartement.
I'm mostly happy with that, since I don't need as much space as a house would provide.
The only thing I'm really missing is a gardening option.
Give appartements a balcony for gardening and (for those who want more space) the possibility to pay for some extra room and i think many people would be happy with that.

There had been hope that players would be able to do some gardening without a house when player-run farms were announced at one of the FanFests. Since then, the only times those farms have been mentioned is in connection with minions. So looks like it won't be happening soon but you never know.

Why do people toss around empathy and compassion all the time? If you flip the board people on the other side can say the same thing.

Do not have a dog in this race either way, but I just have this seeking suspension that the people that toss around the empathy and compassion cards on certain topics only play their empathy and compassion cards when it is convenient for them. It is easy to have empathy and compassion when it is not an inconvenience for you. For those looking for a house or want a house it may not be so hard.

Do not get me wrong downplaying the impact of covid is not cool. I also do not think they should turn the timer back on, but I also do not think this is a matter lacking empathy or compassion like some people like to toss around.

It is when people say they were hoping to take advantage of the misfortunes from a global pandemic in order to get a house in a game. Of course most people who feel this way won't outright say that, but some like to rephrase it as "when you're sick, too busy or unemployed you don't care about a house in a game!" as if it somehow justifies wanting to take advantage of someone else's misfortune.

I understand why demolition being suspended can suck for someone, demolition was suspended during a time when I had no house, but if a person starts throwing around that they need someone else to be very misfortunate in real life just so they can get a house from a game then I lose all sympathy for them. It's a disgusting mindset.

Wanting to still have a chance to get a house? Fine. Wanting someone to go through hardships just so you can get a house? Not fine.
