Oh @Qinari you can have a summoning bell in your apartment the same as a house. It is a furniture item. The MB's are also right outside of the apartment, many houses are located a fair distance away from them, but there are a few plots right by an mb which is still nice.0/*-/*

When I started playing I wanted a house real bad, but got an apartment in the Goblet and it really did see a lot of use. Even now I still use my apartment and I have an FC house and fc room, an alt with an fc room, and personal house. And I love having access to all of that. I think I deco pretty well, get compliments frequently, but I do more grungy rock and roll club type decos > _ >. I do get a bit upset with the 100 item limits in apartment/fc rooms but, I manage to get just enough in there each time to make it look like I kind of want.

Again, that was my not looking at it in the house vs housing perspective.
It's an example of why SE might be having problems understanding NA and EU player frustration. Too many players keep saying "not enough housing" when what they really mean is "not enough houses".

If all people do is repeat "there's not enough available housing", SE has no reason to pay attention. There are plenty of unclaimed apartments on every world.

SE is already in the process of doing something to add more houses. That's what the Ishgard Restoration is about. Worst case scenario is it will be another standard housing district for players that will add another 1260 houses and 3780 apartments per world (slightly more than we would get if they added 5 new wards to each of the existing housing districts). Will that be enough? Not on the NA worlds, and probably not on the 4 highest pop EU worlds or the highest pop JP world. But it will help.

Maybe SE will also do some of the other things they've talked about, like adding in options for apartment size and making alts automatic tenants of houses owned by same account on the same world. Maybe there are even more changes in the works they haven't mentioned to us.

I know it's frustrating but players need to learn patience. We know the problem isn't being completely ignored. We know something is coming. Let's wait to see how it turns out.

There is no reason they cant copy paste 1 ward like 500 times tbh.. no reason at all it shouldn't take them 2 years to add a new house plot when they just gotta copy paste from the ones they already have in the area and change the numbers on them lol

There's plenty of discussion in this forum and elsewhere on why it's not a simple copy/paste like you want to believe. Feel free to search to increase your understanding.

I feel this hard. I, too, got an apartment before snagging my house. The item limit and space constraints fostered quite a bit of creativity: I managed to get a small bathroom set up using partitions while fashioning the rest of my apartment into a little studio apartment. After getting lucky with my house (which is in the crappiest plot of land in the Goblet, but at least is next door to my FC's house), I kept the apartment, having now fashioned it into a quaint little pub.

We're at a point now where there's no plots available in any ward on Zalera. You can't fight people for a plot if there's no plots.

Oh boy.. Another one of these. I had hoped with my time away from the forums, that people would go back to previous threads and read what's already been said in hope to avoid this broken record spinning. Yet still it spins. So let's get down to the basics!

    1. "There is no reason to steal homes from people after 45 days other than to simply be jerks"
Actually, there is. To maintain availability. If there was no auto-demolition then you would never have a chance, yet as it stands right now (Not now, because paused timer, but still!) you have a chance to get it. That is good enough for some people.

    2. "now that we are in a pandemic lockdown, they take away the timers"
Yes, they do. Because as you said, life happens. Life takes priority over virtual entertainment, but I'm sure you're of the "well, if they can't pay their sub, then they don't deserve what they have" group, which is.. Wrong. In so many ways. Just because YOU aren't affected by the pandemic to a point of having to cut corners just to keep your house and food on your table, that doesn't mean it's all fine and dandy all around the world. If you had a house, which you fought tooth and nail to obtain, only to go into the hospital. It'd suck pretty badly for you to come back to a "Well, you didn't play." message. Put yourself in their shoes before throwing shade.

3."the time has come that SE should once and for all give the rest of the wards up to 50"
Nope. Purely because it's not as simple as flicking a switch. We already got a ward upgrade a few months ago, yet within a WEEK of having those wards, people refused to read the fine print or try to get their houses and chose instead to continue whining these tired points. It takes a lot more behind the scenes to upgrade Wards, given how much data is being stored in those wards. With how XIVs systems (that we know of, at least) are wired, it can't be that simple. While the interior of all houses are instanced (meaning they only load when a player is in that instance) the wards aren't.

Be patient. You'll get a house eventually and then you'll realize after a week, maybe even a month or two, that you have a house and it just.. Sits there. You would've decorated it to the way you want, use it for roleplay scenarios, maybe even use it as a getaway for crafting, but eventually, it'll just be a thing you have that gathers dust. Something you now have to maintain a sub just to keep, but the mere thought of you losing your house is something plenty of people refuse on principle, even when they don't use it.

Keep in mind, i'm not saying that will happen to everyone, only that it is my personal view. I've had a house for over a year now and I still use it, albeit not as regularly as I used to. I can chalk it up to 'not any content I'm interested in' or 'taking a break' but that isn't enough for some people.

I mean, what I said is entirely truthful. You can scream and hide because you don't like the truth and label me a fanboy, but hey.

I'm not going to lose sleep over it. The issues around housing started when the playerbase proved they can't be trusted. Throwing hate and yelling in SE's direction isn't going to do anything. But eh, I already have a house. So what do I know about getting houses in-game? I couldn't possibly know anything that could help others improve their odds or make sure that misinformation gets shot down quick.

    Naah, that'd be preposterous!

You sound like someone who should join me on Cerberus with alt character eligible for a house and spend whole night with me, clicking plackard together. You won't ofc. Since there are no free plots on Cerberus.

But i know you will anwser 'No, because I don't have to'. So go forth adventurer! Prove how everyone is wrong in almost every thread created recently in the housing sub-section. They are all not worthy of even complaining about housing, and how it got overcome by bots and people loosing their minds. It's their fault after all! Ha-ha!

What's that? Game design incentivising unhealthy or TOS breaking behaviour? That's preposterous! There is no such thing as game design! Only Gamer's habits!

Okay, fun aside, i will just ask you one thing, what is the point of your posts. Should we leave housing as it is? No demoliton is good? Idk, i try to understand.
