It's one of your strongest dps abilities, being off global cooldown and only requiring 20 beast gauge.

(Off global cooldown (oGCD) means that you can always use it instantly outside of animation lock, so it never competes with the global cooldown dps abilities, which are all your other dps actions except for onslaught. After using a global cooldown (GCD) action, you need to wait about 2.5 seconds before being able to use another GCD. Off global cooldown abilities can always be used instantly and don't have a global cooldown, can thus be used inbetween 2 GCD actions)

Simple mode:
Use it on cooldown.

Optimal:
Make sure to absolutely always use it within Inner Release (it's litteraly free dps, same for onslaught) and then try to use it when your inner beast cooldown is between 59-53 seconds and then again when it's between 29-22 seconds so you will definitely have it again for the next Inner Release. If you didn't use it on time and Inner Release cooldown is under 22s, then it's better to save it.
