all they do is refer you to the STF... who again.. isnt very helpful either
Well, I got into a bit of crafting since the market seemed to be a little better lately. 2 days later and half the markets are crashed and flooded by one seller. Quick lodestone search on the crafter tag and of course it's another character from a different world with nothing but 1 lv80 battle class, maxed DoH/L, no mounts or pets besides the basic MSQ ones, in an 11 person FC consisting of them and 10 low level bank alts that somehow is rank 4 on their entire server for activity.
Meanwhile, the exact same gathering bot I remember from 8 months ago who I caught twice in a broken mount/dismount loop is still there rotating timed nodes and extracting countless materia (which is completely worthless now).
Why even bother? They have literally handed crafting and gathering over to the bots. It's their content now.
welcome to the downside of world travel. the one that SE glosses over. You have seen an RMT ring. typically it is a single crafter, they will flood the market with items at a very low price designed for quick sales. typically they will be about 1/2 of what the current value is for the item on the market and they list 5 or 6 per item.Well, I got into a bit of crafting since the market seemed to be a little better lately. 2 days later and half the markets are crashed and flooded by one seller. I guess SE justifies it as one crafter trying to make the most gil on every world... and not actual RMT, though everyone knows that exactly what its for.
Every server has one, and soon with datacenter travel, the RMT will be able to be based out of a single server.
thanks SE...
Cross DC travel is basically going to be the final nail in the coffin for the game's economy because the price differences are already huge enough to warrant the RMTers transferring characters to other DCs specifically to buy out cheap items either to use for crafting or just sell at a significant mark-up back on a different DC.
Bots don't exist if you don't talk about them.
They gonna struggle scrambling an AntiCheat System together on ancient code, but that is what they have to do sooner or later. Question is if it is even in the player and companies interest to do it, or if other things are more important. How many will quit playing because they cant make as much profit as they used to?
How many have quit so far, or are waiting for better times, only playing occasionally? A very large percentage of the players are on free accounts atm. After Blizzards disaster some years back I don't think many companies show the number of paying customers anymore, but it's quite easy to see who are playing free accounts or not in FFXIV, since they can't be in an FC, and max out at lvl 60. Personally I have changed my retainers of Field Exploration, logging in every 18 hours to check on them, crafting whatever I've sold, doing the gardening at my mansion and the FC, and logging in every time on of my subs has finished a voyage. For gaming I'm kind of lost. This was THE GAME, I thought, but the bots destroyed it, that and the retainers bringing back stuff crafters used to do, hammering the nail into the coffin. There are no new games coming out anytime soon that interests me, so I twiddle my thumbs and play Banished when I get too bored. I wonder if SE in reality has given up on FFXIV and are putting their resources into FFXVI. It's Naoki Yoshida developing that one too, ands it's PS5 only, hinting once more that they aren't really capable of controlling a game made for PC.Bots don't exist if you don't talk about them.

... are mainline Final Fantasy games generally multiplatform on release?
I thought Sony had a temporary exclusivity deal with SQEX.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure FF7R is still only available on PS4 and PS5. I don't think FF16 being only available through a Sony console (on launch) has anything to do with any of the devs abilities.

I don't question their abilities, just the fact that the OS Windows is so easily manipulated and wide spread. FFXVI was originally intended to be published on PS5 AND Windows, at launch, but that changed at about the same time as the botting industry flooded FFXIV, thus hinting at the developers accepting the fact that they don't have the resources to stop botting with Windows as a plattform, and therefor publishing the next in the series (FFXVI) exclusively on PS5, which they have much more control over, with their close cooperation with Sony. It's much easier to identify and block unwanted content when you have a direct line to the developer of the OS.... are mainline Final Fantasy games generally multiplatform on release?

I find that hard to believe. You may think you read that a PC version would be be available at release, but they haven't even released the PC version of the FFVII remake, after a year.I don't question their abilities, just the fact that the OS Windows is so easily manipulated and wide spread. Final Fantasy has always been, first and foremost, a console-oriented game series.
Totally offtopic here but does anyone have a clue if it's possible to forge a signature on a crafted item somehow? Some guy is selling 4 crafter tools with my signature on it. I am 100% sure he is not reselling my tools because I have not sold any (I sell with specific prices and there are no such sales in the history). Sale history goes back like 6 months for these lvl 70 tools. ???
