Can confirm, all timed node gathering bots are gone (tho gatherers that spam low level mats are still there.) , doubt it will take them too long to replace though. The crafter ring however, has probably been banned on Chaos, their activity stopped right around the biggest RMT ban wave a little over a week ago (around 10k accounts perma banned), It's highly likely that the bot ring got hit on all DCs and Worlds by it, 7k accounts banned that were involved in RMT or RMT+botting aka gil holders, retainer shuffling dummies, crafters, gatherers etc.Small update. The "usual" craft/marketboard bots seem to have left Chaos data center. But we got item spammers from Elemental data center in return.. 2 crafters from Atomos server JP spamming items on Chaos worlds EU...with random letter retainer names.. yeah right. Items are restocked endlessly on Moogle at least.. May be all connected.
Meanwhile, the treasure map bots seem wholly undeterred throughout this supposed ban wave, which I find a touch baffling considering that their activity is even easier to trace then that of the crafting bots; what with them moving about as an abnormally organized collective and constantly being spammed with maps by a single character on a mule account.

While I agree this is just as bad, I rather have map bots running around than craft/market board bots. The map bots at least supply cheap-ish materials while players still control the market prices for the crafted items. Anyway, botting = botting and should be eradicated.Meanwhile, the treasure map bots seem wholly undeterred throughout this supposed ban wave, which I find a touch baffling considering that their activity is even easier to trace then that of the crafting bots; what with them moving about as an abnormally organized collective and constantly being spammed with maps by a single character on a mule account.
EDIT: Same goes for crystal/cluster/dust/ore/plant farm bots by the way. Been a problem since forever. Either SE's detection systems sucks or they don't give a crap. It's one of those 2, nothing else. I mean if we (the players) can already identify 60%+ of all the bots then SE sure as hell can identify them and more. Which brings me to the conclusion they simply don't care enough. Also they ban in waves which lets bots sometimes continue on for months until the next wave hits. But that's what you get if your "anti cheat team" consists of only 3-5 Japanese people. This problem would be less obvious if every region had their own team I guess.

I think they only have 5 people if they hired 2 more to make them tea. or maybe massage their feet and shoulders to relax them after all the hard work they put in.While I agree this is just as bad, I rather have map bots running around than craft/market board bots. I really have no issues with their development team but their anti cheat systems seem to be only designed to promote cheating. many other game makers at least seem to try and stem the tide of cheaters and botters, despite the fact that it may be a never ending battle. SE seems to have just either given up, or has a % of the RMT sales. I have a hard time thinking they are really this incompetent at detection.

Yeah we discussed this before, and I totally agree. I really have no clue why their stance is so weak. Most gaming companies are at least outspoken about cheaters. SE seems to want to keep things under the table for some odd reason.I think they only have 5 people if they hired 2 more to make them tea. or maybe massage their feet and shoulders to relax them after all the hard work they put in.

I think its an "honour" thing.
they dont want to admit even to themselves it is out of control and they have let it slide to where it is today. there are companies doing evrything they can to make their games fair and to get rid of cheaters, SE just gets rid of the easy targets now and must feel pride for even that small accomplishment
Because they don't feel like they can win the battle and it would have an effect on future content quality/quantity. So you would work on something that most likely won't fix it anyway, so they rather don't even work on it and focus on things they can improve instead.
The better approach would probably be to overhaul the whole marketboard, being able to make buyorder and not just sellorders, it would limit undercutting and bots will be happy with selling to buyorders. This marketboard/retainer style is just so time ineffecient and oldschool. You need to do so many clicks for just 1 thing.
