If fun can be added to the gameplay without changing the core gameplay then why not make it into a visual one? I want to see a better visual representation on the pop up window for gathering and fishing instead of a list.

Wanted to suggest a revamp of fishing into possible mini game. One where we can see the types of fish swimming. When we cast our rods a window pops up that shows the fish swimming. Fish that show up black or shadow like are the fish we haven’t caught.

The pop up window could look retro or pixel graphics with a chibi representation of our race fishing over a lake side view of a body of water. That shows fish swimming in the area along with rare items or chest at the bottom.

The skills could remain the same and nothing really changes to the core gameplay. The visual screen could show us what fish will bit our line. Either one we caught or one we haven’t caught. Maybe we could control the line towards a specific fish in hopes it would bite. The visual could show what fish are swimming towards the line based on what fish food we use. Maybe we could cast our rods to the bottom where there is a chest.

Doesn’t have to be but perhaps a mini game like meter would pop up like from Stardew Valley or a fishing game where we could have a chance to reel in the item or fish depending on our level, gear and skills used to make the reeling easier.
If nothing changes gameplay or skill wise at least add the visuals of the fish we are fishing for.

When we pull the fish out of the water why not show it on the rod in game? It’s much more satisfying to see instead of nothing. I know it has to be 3D modeled, and will take time. Why not add a paper 2d model for the time being or add bit by bit of each fish per patch.

I’m suggesting this to bring life into the empty world. We don’t see what we mine, gather or fish. All we have are lists and glowing balls. If we’re going to gather and mine at least give us a visual representation on the pop up screen. The pop up window is a bit disappointing to look at. Why not make the pop up window into at least a visual experience.
