Nah man, nah.

Nah man, nah.

Artificial difficulty is artificial. Making people run because they're out of anima is simply a way of wasting time that could be spent doing fun stuff. I play this game to challenge myself crafting, killing things, and gambling on materia meld chances, not trying to stay awake while crossing bland scenery XYZ while listening to the 30th hour of the chocobo song. If there was a way to downrate this thread, I would do so in a heartbeat.

i hardly ever post on here, but rokien has made me care less about what he wants more then anything in this thread. i like this game a lot, and no matter what you say rokien it is a final fantasy game, no matter what they add or take away from it. the title has not changed.
With that logic, let me slap Final Fantasy on CoD..... There ya go.i hardly ever post on here, but rokien has made me care less about what he wants more then anything in this thread. i like this game a lot, and no matter what you say rokien it is a final fantasy game, no matter what they add or take away from it. the title has not changed.

Yea there is no use arguing, I am sure none of the devs are stupid enough to takes anything Rokien says.

Now. I don't exactly agree with Rokien, but dear God.
What the hell is this?
Disagreements on game design gives us no right to act like arrogant belittling asses.
If you think his line of reasoning is wrong, simply explain so and move on. If he's really in the wrong, there's no point to pursuing an extended argument with him, especially when said arguments lead to jumping onto stagnant labels like "Troll" "White Knight" "Whiner" to try to lift ourselves above one another. Like we're too good to hear the opinions of others so we can use that as an excuse to back away from discussion. We're all on the same level here. Everyone wants their voice heard and we should be able to discuss these issues like adults.
This "OMG U TROLL ME" twaddle does nothing but make us look like bickering children and I know we can be better behaved than that.
My biggest problem with Anima/Teleport/Return is the way it really kills my immersion. Yea I know there is some lore behind how Anima/Aether works, but it still doesn't make sense that everyone can just *pop* use it.
I really would feel better if Teleport was some kind of spell a job learned. It doesn't have to be White Mage like in XI, heck make a Time Mage who's only purpose is to increase people's travel speed, teleport them around, whatever else. This is a better game than XI for that, since you can change jobs on the fly. Everyone can level their Time Mage, if desired, port around to kingdom come, then switch back to what they really wanna be when they hit their destination. And for those who don't have TMG leveled, I'm sure there will be plenty of people in town willing to assist you...for a price.Give them 10k gil and as long as you have 4 Anima to spare, you're off! The Time Mage can "distort Aetherial energy" or some such, thereby allowing them to send adventurers to far away crystals...see what I mean? At least now there is some lore that grounds Teleporting to the world of Eorzea. And this was just a random thought, please don't think I would not be accepting of a million different way of doing this, as long as it makes sense within the context of the game world. In this way, we retain our fast travel options, but at least there is a little lore and a little up-front time investment to attain it.
I had posted something a while back about a Moogle Adventuring Society, in relation to Content Finder. This group (of Time Mage Moogles) has been tasked by the Ul'dahn Sultanate to assist adventurers in tackling Evil throughout Eorzea. There is a line of quests you may do for them to unlock a "special magicite receiver", developed in conjunction with the Garlond Ironworks, which you may use to find other adventurers based on the tasks they are looking to perform. Or with cross-server Content Finder, which usually involves the party being insta-ported to their dungeon, say the M.A.S. has the ability to tap your essence and send you to any place your soul remembers - but it will cost some of your energy (Anima)! So as long as you've been to the place before, they can send you and your cross-server group to meet up there, if you have the Anima to spare. Again, just another random example of injecting lore into these ease-of-use functionalities.
So for multiple Returns (which is the subject of this discussion), perhaps the M.A.S. has developed a new, curious attuning device. Your first quest is to help them get the materials they need to produce your very own Hearthstone - oh yes I did just say that. :P Maybe it starts at rank 20. By the time you reach rank 30, the Moogles have made a breakthrough! If you help them do x and y, whatever, they can expand the potential of your Hearthstone to include a second destination....
Sorry for rambling so long, but I think the main point is pretty clear. I have no problem at all with options for faster traveling, just please please PLEASE keep it classy and make sure it's something that "feels right" within the game context.
