I would like to know if it's possible to finish the hunting log once we reach level 50 even if we don't earn xp.

You mean your class-specific hunting log?

You can finish that at anytime you're strong enough to kill the mobs - even at level 50 (or level 80 for that matter), but as you noticed: you wont earn exp from it if you finish hunts when your character has reached max level (so 50 if you didnt buy any expansions, up to 80 with Shadowbringers active on your account).

I think I finished my hunting log for puglist somewhat around level 68? It even still gave me the fixed amount of exp, though that obviously didnt really matter at that level anymore.

It’s best to try to do the hunting log when the XP matters, but you can do it anytime.

I actually wished they would’ve continued with the hunting logs past 50 with the new expansions. I know we have GC daily hunt bills, but class or job hunts would’ve been cool, too.

Indeed. I’d like to have them to earn the rings for the later jobs as well. I didn’t finish my Conjurer’s log for a bit, and it was rather hilarious to do so just running into a group of mobs and hitting Assize and one shotting all of them. Couple times I was dismounting and firing it so fast the animation delayed and it was just me running into a crowd and everything just dropping dead spontaneously.
