Geomancer Hammer? Not the next healer but what is?

So I've gained an understanding of why ppl think Geo will be a healer, and now I'm curious why everyone associates it with having a Hammer, cause Gaia?

Also, since we're pretty deep in the camp of Geo will be a caster dps since all its lore basically point to that end. What do y'all think the next Healer will be? Chemist? Maybe something highly unique not seen before?

Gaia only has a hammer because Tetsuya Nomura decided he wanted her to have one. Not any deeper meaning than that.

As far as new healers go, I feel like geomancer goes too far into conjurer and astrologian. The healers are already getting more similar every expansion and to have 1 pull their style, spells, and story themes from 2 existing ones is a bit much. Chemist is something that would be interesting, but it was said in an interview somewhere that they tried it but couldn’t get the mechanic right so they reworked it into AST.

At this point, it’s been so long since we’ve had a new healer that I would hope they have had time to workshop a lot of different ideas. I hope what we end up getting is different than anyone is expecting.

Gaia feels more of A Time Mage tease if anything.

Anyway I'd welcome GEO if it means there'd be a job that uses all three CNJ elements consistently (WHM's spells change to a light aspect form 72 onwards, and it didn't have Water spells anyway, only an ability, RDM doesn't even have THAT)

I'm fine with Chemist as long as they don't make consumables mandatory like they did for say FSH and XI's NIN. (exceptions being as a Limited Job, but I kinda doubt that would be happening for that job)

Every time I see someone asking for "another" Geomancer with a hammer I always wonder where the first one was lmao.

I am hoping for a healer that heals over time through dosing. Maybe a melee. They might have like a big heal for those moments when a tank eats a TB or a dps is standing where they shouldn't. Over all their healing would be small but constant as long as they are dpsing, could be fun with a skill/spell speed build. Though i can see issues with balancing it with conntent, so maybe not a viable job idea but I still think the concept would be fun.

You could argue that Explorers Geomancers use hammers. I think they technically use clubs but in terms of unique differences from a hammer there isn't much of one. Geomancers in FFT also use axes, which are basically sharp clubs.

That said I wouldn't want to see clubs or axes, and if it's a healer it'll hopefully be something a bit more... well, nice looking honestly. Not much sense in them being in melee or using a weapon like that, the weapons currently used by healers/casters is to channel aether better.

Geomancers traditionally use bells as weapons. The geomancer enemies you fight in that one stormblood dungeon also use bells. And the ultimate Geomancer weapon from FFV is actually already in the game as a minion, the Tinker Bell, which you get from beating Archeotania, just like how it was gotten in FFV.

Ganen the first king of Doma is shown with a bell (and dual wielding a sword with it) as well as the caster Geomancer themed monsters in Swallow’s Compass and Heaven on a High also using them.

Bells would be my guess as well, or possibly something more out there like a compass (they are masters of feng shui after all) if they want to avoid something too close to a staff. I'm just pointing out that Geomancers have used hammers (or at least hammer-like weapons) in the past, so it's not unreasonable for them to have it here.
