What about leves that progress as you do them (unlock new ones as you do them) and get a special item or skill...not just do them then repeat....

Those are called Faction leves
I agree. Leves need to be fixed. They have a huuuuuge potential but instead they are used as stupid repeatable quests.
The things they can do with leves are endless. They can make different categories of leves. Make some rare ones optainable only in dungeons, from bosses or NM. They can make leves that play differently then others etc.... Yet they only serve as a quick way of getting some XP but its so damn boring cuz u always do the same ones over and over.....
Leves make me wanna shoot myself. What the guy above me posted sounds great.
I am in favor of any system that has additional complexity and reflects progression. Right now I guess they are grouped by level but it would be cool to be rewarded for repeatedly helping out one city or faction. Yes faction leaves are currently ingame and somewhat fulfill this request but more complexity is needed.
Didn't they sort of start a sort of progression system with Leve evaluation?
Granted, I haven't bothered with it since a little while after implementation because I found it odd that eight mid level crafting leves still have be a high level battlecraft Leve.
I never understood that either, I did 8 level 20 leves and they give me a 40 one?
I really think they were onto something, but they already said they were moving the focus away from leves. While they are boring and repetitive they at least were something I could do solo while waiting for LS events to start. The xp, items, and gil rewards make them worth doing for the most part.
Hopefully they will get more attention once other parts of the game are at a satisfactory level.
