    Extended battle queue[dev1022]

    I understand where everyone is coming from wanting an auto-attack.

    For me it's difficult to chat in battle, an auto-attack would fix this.
    Also, at times it is hard to tell if the attack I tried to execute did and this causes me to mash the button to make sure it executes (this is annoying).
    And there is seriously something wrong with the battle animations because actions are so quick (they skip even on my pricey PC).

    You could fix all these problems for me without adding an auto-attack (which seems like such an ancient technology to me, it's just slow and outdated.)

    I really enjoy the system as is, I don't have to many problems with it. I play game mostly on console, I'm not a PC player, I don't play 5 accounts at once, I don't do housework while I play, I need to feel involved with battle.

    If anything extending the battle queue will give us the same strategic basics with the attacks and style of fighting you've given us, but just make it easier to control and execute.

    Having an extended queue in my mind should also make it easier for the attacks flow graphically, as each attack would take a set amount of time to execute and you wouldn't be able to rush an extra attack in.

    I think this would solve alot of the problems people are having without needing to resort to an auto-attack. Auto-attack is very slow, very boring and there are are huge wait times between attacks. I for one am not going to invest money in a game that I have to wait 5-10 seconds to attack, that wasen't in the games initial description and has no appeal to me. Everyone felt this way in alpha when you released the initial style fighting, they'll feel the same way now, they just wont know until it's too late. I think the problem with the current is our lack of control, everything feels too spammy, an extended queue will help this, I think it would be a good idea to give it a shot before you spend too much time and effort into an auto-attack which from my experience is going to have a very negative effect if your trying to pull in console players. It'll make people happy now, but it gets old quick. Just please consider other options before giving into the mass cries, battle is very rewarding as is, it just has some problems.

    Or they could just add in an auto attack that takes just as long as it takes to build up the required stamina before it strikes, if you don't click the button, and then also give us an extended battle queue so we can be even more strategic in battle. Please both sides, {Yes, Please.}

    Auto attack promotes communication, co-operation, helps with server side lag/latency, and does not pull away from tactical play.

    Communication is promoted because you have time to chat.

    Co-operation is promoted because Battle Regimens will be much more likely to be used.

    By forcing less actions to be entered per second (especially with those players who spam) there will be less lag/latency due to having a server side client. Making the game much more enjoyable and allow actions like Feint to be used in appropriate time windows. Cures can be cast on demand rather than waiting waiting for your stupid inferior attack to finish (much worse if you have several queued up) so you can mass heal if the mob(s) score multiple critical attacks or use very strong TP actions. Normally you would die by the next regular attack of the mob because you can't cast Cure in time due to some issue whether directly or indirectly because of auto attack interfering with mandatory animation delays or lag/latency.

    This does not decrease tactical thought put into playing the game. My reasoning for this is because regular attacks are too inferior to really have any thought of judgment over other than I have to be careful not to screw myself over in case I need to use a specific action immediately without any delay whatsoever which regular attacks can definitely interfere with. With or without an auto attack I'm spending the same amount of time considering which actions to use and regular attacks are second nature to me (require no thought process behind to execute effectively like blinking)

    I think this far outweighs trying to fix the issue by extending battle queues.

    do we really have to turn every thread into an "I want auto attack" discussion? don't we have enough of them?

    By the way, a queue sounds like something really interessing in an offline RPG, but i don't know if it would fit an MMO :/
