....Why they did that? The character creation of that game was initially the main selling point, just perfect in everyway. Geez NCSOFT really buried that game.
They didn't change creation, they "upgraded" graphics so all textures changed, as well as some other details, in such a drastic way that it looks like way more changed. Plus they removed manes, claws and everything from Asmos that made them different from Elyos.

I was reeeeally unhappy with that. I loved my Asmodians. Now they're just Elyos with gray skin tones. Super boring.
WoW was a little different because they actually changed quite a lot about the character models even beyond what Aion did. Everything down to animations changed, and as faithful as they tried to stay imo they still ended up with some options looking entirely different. To the point where I know at least one person who stopped playing one of his oldest characters because he couldn't stand the way male Trolls run anymore.
For FF, I'd just want new options added and restrictions lifted in the character creator. The graphics are still pretty good barring a few bits of texture weirdness, but the only thing I'd really want a straight update on would be some of the hairstyles. Some of them have noticeably... different... quality from the newer ones imo.

I haven't played since the first year it released, I think you can guess why, but anyway, that's... depressingly disappointing. There's a reason they have claws/manes in the first place as they are descendants (I don't remember of what), so the lore there now makes no sense with them :/.
