Separation from Weapons [Weapon Saga Discussion]

So as I was revisiting the storyline for Brave Exvius something popped up about the Weapons and Gaius's kids ending up fusing with the weapon's core and that is if there is a way to separate them from the core if it has fully absorbed them in FF14 world.

A bit of summary, in Brave Exvius Season 2 storyline a similar event happened with Physalis being that she had fully fused with the Core of Ultima Weapon and the only way to save her was to use a potion that requires a special flower called Tears of Provenance. The potion effect is to restore the person to their original state which allowed Physalis to be restored to her original state before being absorbed into Ultmia Weapon's Core. The Tear of Provenance Potion can even restore a person sight if they have gone blind, restore a person's ability to use magic if their body is damage to a point they can't use magic anymore, and among other things normal magic and scientific method cannot restore. However, the Tear of Provenance flower has a deadly effect of releasing large amount of magical energy that will kill the person who pulls it from the ground unless they have a special potion that makes them immune to the effect of that magical energy and the Flower is rare so it only grows in specific locations.

Considering the many ways the story can go where some, one, or none of Gaius' kids live in the end it is uncertain how this will end for now....


So what do you all think about it? Will everyone of Gaius' kids die, some live, or only one live because he or she never entered a weapon or because they found a way to remove her from the core despite being fused with it.

Well, when they fuse to the core in the XIV storyline, they get drained of all their aether and die horribly. Cid's working on a way to save the pilots, but it's likely that we won't save many of them. My money would be on trying to save them and failing for various reasons. Either they know we're going to stop the fusion, so they self detonate or we don't stop the fusion in time. Remaining girl Au Ra will probably not be in a mech, though if she is, it'll be after she incapacitated her brother to keep him safe.

Well another difference to consider is that Nael's persona/mind erased the pilot's completely. It's should be more complicated to save the pilots in XIV.

Fusing with aether, draining the aether, overwriting the persona... does anyone else think of Ascians? If so, the only way to save the pilots would be to sever that connection before the process is completed... with a Blade of Light.

Of course, depending on how quick that separation is done, the pilot might still suffer mental damage. And since fusing with the Core is their despair move since they don't want to lose, and we'd have to win the battle first before we could even attempt anything... doesn't look too good. I think they can only be saved if they don't pilot their Weapon at all.

I don't think it'd take a blade of light. We'd just have to like, have some sorta magic EMP that could shut down the weapon completely when the energy started to spike during the override sequence, I think... I'm looking forward to finding out though!

the best way for us would be to destroy the weapon's core, since that's where the fusion process occurs

but it is interesting, tears of provenance...i know gaius liked the word provenance a lot :P

Cid's invented devices to interfere with the tech of things like Alexander and Omega, so it wouldn't surprise me if he comes up with a way to completely shut down the Weapons and prevent them from engaging Oversoul once we've damaged them sufficiently; though I'm still not expecting anyone other the two white-haired Au Ra to survive as they're obviously being given greater importance then the rest.

It looks like he's at least created some kind of mecha of his own to deal with whatever Weapon comes next judging from that Ultima Warrior with the Garlond Ironworks color scheme in the patch preview.
