How about this? (serious proposal)Excuse me while I ramble on for a bit.
Back during testing we were able to port around la nocea or at least what we had access to at will. The only requisite was that you actually had to make the trip your self once. Aethers are really just tarted up way points no mater how you look at them.
I wonder what the reaction would be if they keep the limiter that anima represents but change how it acts?
What if they scrap anima and replace it all together with a cool down timer? Something along the lines of the length of the timer they put on return when they yanked its anima cost. Perhaps a bit longer though.
It keeps porting a some what finite resource but one that is far easier to manage. Though with this change it might be best to allow travel directly to the aether nodes via teleportation. Though something would have to be hashed out in the event that a party member had not touched that particular node.
Though with this solution you would have to use your ports for long distance travel like they were kind of intended for.
Tl:dr: Pull anima costs replace it with a global cool down timer. Walk your ass to black brush from uldah.
-Remove return.
-Increase armor damage upon HPing.
- Remove anima cost.
- Make it so you can't teleport from the menu.
- Make it so you can teleport... from aether TO aether.
How about that?
It would make the world much less interesting if I could just appear a few yards away from wherever I want to be at any time.
almost like my idea~ http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...mpany-teleport
Why don't we just abolish anima and have flight paths like all other MMOs do? Would give us a sense of travel still, sink money in for economy, and can still make their FP's not too near places of interest.
Yeah let's completely remove anything skillbased from the game and just all be able to one-shot things. It's only fair.
</sarcasm>
If they have more SKILL it's not an UNFAIR advantage.
It would still negate airships entirely, might as well remove them from the game at that point.
Teleports are not meant for the hardcore, the people who complain about anima are the ones who have a lot of time to play and abuse it to get around then complain that it takes them longer to get around cause they burned their anima. Teleports are meant for casual players who don't have a lot of time to play to traverse faster so that they can get things done without having to travel everytime. In the context of a person who might only have an hour to play during the week and does 2 craft leves a day they could easily get it done and use anima to travel to said destination then head back to town to rest for xp all in the process of an hour. But for someone who has time they could choco to said destinations and spend the extra 15-20 minutes it might take.
