idk anymore this really puts me off from able to progress through any contents now since hurts my head big time yet some fights requires to move constently (MCH/BRD has it easy and dnc) since can dps and move but i dont wanna be dancer cause TOO many >.<It's definitely BLM.
I usually main mages in MMO's but in FFXIV my first job was Pugilist and I went back to it in Shadowbringers.
And I gotta say, as much as I love Monk my fingers begin to hurt after too long sessions xD...
BLM feels very slow and static when I play it now too, it sorta made me realize how slow they really are when I switched over again.
Edit: Btw, in regards to your carpal tunnel issue.
I'd consider my keybindings carefully too.
I can feel it in my wrists sometimes after long sessions when I have to hold shift for too long.
Don't worry about what other people play. People play dancer because they like it. It is a fun job and aesthetically people like it too.
I know this thread has been about which job has the lowest APM, but if you prefer one job over another don't force yourself to change to one you don't like as much.
And there's also other things to consider other than the job. I haven't looked into each reply so I don't know if any of this has been touched upon, but your mouse and keyboard and your in game keybinds can be key to improving the ergonomics of your setup. Like, I don't know if you use an MMO mouse or not, but having the 9+ buttons on the mouse help a lot from what some of my friends say (I personally use a controller even though I'm on PC). Or if you prefer a normal mouse, Asus recently released their Chakram mouse which has an analog stick on the side, which may be something to consider if you like all your actions on the keyboard since it can free up WASD for more actions. And ESDF is a popular replacement keybinding for movement, feels more natural for some people if you haven't tried movement with those keys.
And as for keybinds, when I played around with M/KB, I found the default setup to be unintuitive. I don't really have any suggestions in this regard, as I said I play on controller. I'm sure you have adjusted it to what's comfortable for you, but perhaps playing around with your key bindings more or changing some peripherals will let you disregard the APM of a job.
The good thing about BLM is that you should be minimizing your movement to begin with.
If you have to move a lot then you're kinda just playing BLM wrong, but on the other hand you need to learn the mechanics well and be good at positioning. But that's something you can practice.
I get what you're saying about Dancer, I used to care a lot about this and play less played classes in MMO's.
But nowadays I don't really care and just play what I want.
