Save for Roes and Hroth, all full beards seem exclusive to the old man face, even Miqo*, so apparently if you're younger than ~50 having a beard looks unprofessional maybe? that's a bit of an outdated mindset tbh but JP does like tradition.

*At least Miqo can cover their wrinkles with hair/tiaras

In regard to facial hair, we attempted implementation, but ran into some issues, so it's on hold while we work to fix these problems. We are not giving up on this, so again, your patience is appreciated.

There is certainly a lack of beards & eyebrows & chest hair for male characters. It's frustrating.

I'd love to see FFXIV men with full beards that don't just exist on NPCs But I fear SE has something against body hair & prefers the look of younger males who've yet reach puberty until they're like 45.

I'd also love to see Hairstyles like Ysayles, Ryne's & Gaia's & I honestly don't care about the clipping, I'm just tired of short hairstyles & NPCs getting amazing looks while players get watered down, half-measured versions of something similar.

Of course. The whole post is a joke, I was being condescending to the user I replied to. You've gotta look at the bigger picture! Nice looking is subjective. Many people would say Cloud is attractive, while my eyes are entirely on Barret. Even here in the west I don't think beards were that popular either until like the hipster trend in the early 2010's
