So every time I clear the vault it takes me back to the foundation. I am currently caught up on story through 5.2. anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?
Most likely be a you still have a quest activated that requires the Vault to be completed. Did you have an anima weapon you were working on, because that is the only reason I can think of. I had the same problem with Sunken Temple because I kept getting teleported to Southern Thanalan when I completed it, only to remember I still had an anima weapon step activated.

Look through your quest list and see if any of them require the Vault.
