Anyone feel this skill is out of place? It is a 4second stun shared by the 2.5 global cooldown making it awkward to use. If it comes down to quick interruption i would like to use the other 1 that does not share the same global cooldown

It's actually a 6s stun. iirc it "should've" been used for A3s or A8s for stunning the slimes and orbs during add phases. Tho, double WAR or DRK/WAR was the standard during that time, soo... pretty invalid.
With all the removed actions since SB and ShB, I am amazed how this skill even survived its cut. It was still useless in SB due to its high 120 TP cost, and stun resistance is still a thing. They also removed blinding effects (Flash, Dark Passanger). So yes, this skill IS out of place.
I still use it at e8s at the Add Phase
It helps a lot in PF groups with no ideal communication to give the group 5 more seconds to kill the water add.
ah i see, the only use i see is for damage mitigration. It is just too darn slow for anything
i would rather they swapped it for shield swipe and made it have an oath gauge cost.
Adding an offensive option to the Oath Gauge is probably a bad idea at this point, as it take away from the whole defensive arsenal added to it. Most will actively avoid using defensive/ support for offensive. Further, I can't see why you would want the devs to return Shield Swipe when it already needed a proc via blocking to activate, and also adding Oath Gauge cost, it feels pointless and you're only adding an offensive option just because why not.
obviously i meant it wouldn't require a block to use, but it has a lore context to GLDs moveset and was a nice ability that didn't deserve the cut imo, esp when it could just replace shield bash, the oath gauge cost was to justify giving yet another offense ability, being that you have to give up 50 oath gauge to use it.Adding an offensive option to the Oath Gauge is probably a bad idea at this point, as it take away from the whole defensive arsenal added to it. honestly, I much rather no offensive skills being added to the oath gauge personally. If shield swipe was to be returned which I highly doubt it ever will be, it should be as it was, proc'd off of blocking. Also 50 gauge for a shield swipe sounds lackluster and just plain anticlimactic.obviously i meant it wouldn't require a block to use, but it has a lore context to GLDs moveset and was a nice ability that didn't deserve the cut imo, esp when it could just replace shield bash, the oath gauge cost was to justify giving yet another offense ability, being that you have to give up 50 oath gauge to use it.
You do not need Shield Bash most of the time
but when you do need it, you're going to be happy that it is there.
Do not ask SE to "reinvent" this skill, too.
Oath gauge is for mitigation and stuff. I'm, like, 1000% happy with that.
Shave some cooldown time off of Cover and that'd be cool. I loved Cover is SB. In ShB I hardly ever use it.
the problem with shield bash is really a problem with the content design in general, outside of ARR it was never really important and there's a much bigger lack of CC in the current game, unless this changes it'll always be useless just cause low blow and interject are more useful. Ofc making shield bash useful again would also mean PLD would have a bigger priority than classes that don't have a chain stun, so you can't really win.
