1. Summon the aesthetician NPC at the crystal bell and choose the slicked back hairstyle with a couple of strands on the forehead
2. Equip the glamour gear "Boulevardier's Hat" to your head slot
3. Observe how a rectangle of the hat's brim disappears behind the hair

These sorts of glitches between hats and hairstyles are pretty common with fluffier hairstyles, unfortunately.

I don't think hats can flatten down hair or prevent clipping - you either get hats that cover the entire top half of the head and replace the top half of the hair, or ones like this that just sit on top of (or inside) the whole style as-is.
