Soloing Old Extremes/Dungeons

Hey so, premise of this thread is pretty simple. Solo talk for old stuff. Solos of all types. BLUs, Tanks, DPS, Healers. Long solos, short solos. Impossible to believe solos. Long ass, I can't believe that WHM soloed Twintania at i150 with Aero solos.

What do you think about soloing in any regard? Waste of time? Kind of fun? Useful to know you can do it for Wondrous Tails? ?

I've recently been hitting up the Warring Triad Extremes pretty hard. Today I got Sephirot and Sophia Ex on PLD. I think you could probably handle Sophia on DRK, and Sephirot may be possible for DRK with maxxed out Echo %.

Oh and a bonus Ala Mhigo on Samurai. I had thought Samurai capable of Soloing The Burn, but the second boss does too much damage for i480.

I figured one of the big channel names had probably done them with i470ish optimized. I just didn't really have PLD leveled and geared to a good extent til fairly recently. I'll check his videos out, probably learn something.

So I did check out Mr. Happy's channel. He really took PLD to its apex with his Savage solos. I think he tried A11s too, but met with the enrage, cause when you've gotta use a lot of GCDs to heal, meeting the check is pretty rough. He didn't have a video for that though, from what I could see, but I don't know about his Twitch. I tried my hand at it on GNB and PLD, and while I didn't beat it... it's kind of possessed me.

PLD Attempt at A11s solo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vCy6gZ2EP8 - PLD makes it past Pyretic Phase because it can spike heal with Clemency if you time it right. You need the spike heal to have enough HP to live through Laser Cut X or whatever it's called. GNB can't do that, because even with Aurora + Brutal Shell + Super Potion, it's just not enough.

Sadly, I don't have PLD leveled on my main, which is the GNB character. The PLD on my alt has a significantly worse substat spread from not having crafters/money to do overmelds/being a SAM main. I think a PLD with the i500/i505 weapon and i490~i500 average with optimized damage stats would meet the enrage fairly easily, maybe even capable of skipping the Lapiz Lazuli phase. My GNB can almost skip it as is at i482 with i485 wep with optimized substats.

So I went back to trying out Rathalos Extreme when I got Samurai up, because I figured Samurai had a chance thanks to Shifu, Higanbana, and Midare Setsugekka. Built a skill speed build. It took some doing, but I soloed Rathalos Extreme on Samurai i480!

This uhh, isn't a current solo, but I was looking into my past video recordings and uploads, and I found this gem that I did while waiting on Stormblood to drop. It's a level 60, i270 with i275 relic spear DRG. I think I put on one VIT accessory for extra HP... Man, I forgot about the allocated stat points we used to have as well. Heh. My how things have changed!
