    I CAN NOT DOWNLOAD THE GAME.

    Ok.
    I'm sick and tired of this Launcher. For real.

    I was playing until last monday, may 11th. And i had a problem with my Hard Disk, which a lost. I got a new Hard Disk, went to Steam APP to download the game again and I can't get past the first patch file. Always "Unable to download patch file".
    I tried almost EVERYTHING.
    - Switching connections.
    - Changing Routes.
    - Unninstalling/Reinstalling.
    - Tried MANY 'tutorials' provided by Reddit users (who are the ones working btw)
    I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE.

    And the game is 51GB do download at first. I literally don't know what to do.
    The file gets to it's maximum 631 to 890mb and BAM Error. I REALLY. REALLY NEED HELP. Otherwise a way to get a refund.

    Have you tried to download/install any other game? Just to confirm it's just ff14?

    Edit: also have you tried using a vpn or switching your dns port?

    Maybe it's a permissions thing? Have you tried launching it in admin mode straight from the steam folder? Obviously your account is tied to the steam version but have you tried downloading the website version? Just to see if it gets past that file.

    I've been having the same problem. I bumped into this issue with the free to play version, but one day it worked with no issues. But now I after I bought the game I still have this issue.

    It could be that the modem needs a soft reset, because I remember the day the patch download was successful was when the modem shut down unexpectedly.

    i have same problem from the luncher i get erors japanes word >< still witing for any one help me >< i delelt the game almost 10 time + and searching for how to fix almost 10 days and still waiting my freind witing for me we want play in same time and same lvl we still news in the game !

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

    We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    -Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    -Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
