apathy and laziness. because why bother reading a tootlip and doing napkin maths for 2 minutes when duty finder groups will carry you all the way to lv 80 content and you can cry toxic harassment to any attempt to guide you

Duty actions are introduced during a solo instance earlier in Stormblood. You don't see them before then.Use a duty action- this is why lakshmi is still a pain. People aren't taught how to use the duty action.
Common target indicators- we have stack markers, line attacks, look away from boss, acceleration bombs and many more that are common faire. Players need to learn how to do these.
And the multitude of unique markers (or common markers that mean something different in each fight) in ARR/HW really needs straightening out before they can do any lessons on what the markers mean.
From what I've seen and personally experienced, if there's no desire from an individual to improve they simply won't, regardless of how much tutorials or progression walls the game tries to shove in their faces.

While we're at it, how about making it so Active Help windows can't be permanently turned off and can't be closed without first reading it?
I really can't understand people who claim there is no in-game informations, when the devs already put at least the basics of almost everything in the Active Help.

Yes, but what about the company?
I know I stopped playing for several months before you could get through the MSQ without doing any side content or extra roulettes. There is a balance to consider between over loading the player with things they wont care about and what they can offer as a suggestion. This is not a single player game, it's a game built on accessibility and getting the most money from the largest possible group.
I say this with a single instance per role in mind. I do not think it should be mandatory for all jobs unless there is a spectacular reward like the role quests of Shadowbringers. One role, one instance. Make it on par with solo instance duties without the nerf. Once you go into a dungeon as, say- a healer, you shouldn't need to sit through it again for tanking or DPS when you can just see what your fellow players are doing. And if you make mistakes, then oh well you just make mistakes. Because remember, this is an mmo. I think there should be a push for talking to people.

So you tell me it's overly much asked for
to do the tutorial before entering Sastasha, yepp?
Well, I might react all nice and sugary if new players would at least listen to advices in the dungeon, BUT...
After having several Sastasha-runs endured there days... with green-eared tanks who obviously don't care for chat (or even have turned it off) while definitely having NOT done the novice-hall... I can't be friendly like that.
If a tank makes my healing-job a pain in the neck --- just because they have no idea about the basics and clearly won't respond to the desperate explaining-tries me and my DPS-buddies give --- than I won't carry such person each and every time.
My current philosophy:
Be as cocky as you new tank want to be and completely ignore a feature I would have loved to have in summer 2015 (novice-hall didn't exist back then), but if you don't match the lowest standard plus ignore all communication-tries, then it's the right of the group to KICK your stupid butt OUT of the instance.
:boil boil boil:
So you're ok with Active Help popping up a Window in the midst of an encounter? I've seen that green question mark pop up on my screen during FATEs and dungeon instances, as well as in the field. Just ... no.
Also, some of us run alts and we have already seen those Windows.
