A thing people should consider is that if chemist are healers, then around 90% of the armor options are going to be heavy, mostly white robes. I realized that Dancers weren't going to be healers in Shadowbringers when a job based around fluid, constant movement would be ill-suited to be stuck in a role that has mostly very constricting armor choices. I'd love for a chemist to have AF gear that's a cool fantastical and tactical lab coat and a syringe gun-arm, but all the other gear for the role would join the ranks of people going "oh, another white robe" when every new raid and dungeon set is revealed.

I mean, at this point every other role got at least one job that defies their overall aesthetics; GNB the "light armor" tank, RDM the caster that wears no dresses, and DNC the ranged that doesn't want to be a cowboy. Healers are now the only role where all 3 jobs share the same aesthetic - which I personally always found odd, since the only healer who should be themed around white/holy is WHM, while AST looks best in black and SCH in green/blue, but that's just me.
Bottom line, whoever designs gear needs to get out of their comfort zone more often, specially if chemist does become the next healer

Just double checking things to make sure I'm not too off base, but the Healers don't share the same aesthetic in terms of AF. And in terms of the broad armor categories Gunbreaker/Dancer both share the same ones as the other roles. In terms of AF in general each jobs armor tends to be fairly similar too, it's not like they deviate wildly. At best one could argue that there should be more color variation, but even then poking around Casting tends towards black as the primary color fairly often as well. I just think some people dislike the aesthetics of Healers currently and don't realize that other jobs tend towards similar themes just as strongly.I mean, at this point every other role got at least one job that defies their overall aesthetics; GNB the "light armor" tank, RDM the caster that wears no dresses, and DNC the ranged that doesn't want to be a cowboy. And most likely outside of AF Chemist (or Geomancer, or Green Mage, or whatever) will still be using the same armor as other Healers. Poking around though and double checking I see more variety than I think people want to acknowledge.
