Stop Spamming FC Invites

Since this game does not allow players to opt out of being sent FC invites in any capacity outside of making your own one person guild just to stop the spam, please be considerate to players.

I have played MMO's of all kinds for over 15 years, and this is the only one I have ever seen that has the -audacity- and rudeness to just spam people invites or spam messages with the same tired car salesman lines of hey I noticed you dont have an FC here's ten different reasons why you should join ours. Nobody evedn reads player search info to see if there could be a no fc invites message before sending their spam.

It's unprofessional and rude. Personally I feel anyone who just spams invites with or without talking to the player is a shady guild that cannot be trusted. I don't get to vet you or your guild. I don't get to know you first and decide if its going to be a good fit. You also don't get to know me and decide if I'm someone you want to have in the ranks.

There are appropriate ways to recruit. These forum boards or reddit, for example. Even in the game there is an FC finder function. No self respecting guild NEEDS to spam invites to have players for any kind of content, casual or otherwise.

If players want a guild, they will search it out and find you. You don't need to waste everyone's time inviting every Tom Dick and Harry and having to figure out later whether or not it will work out. And since Square won't give us the option to prevent you from spamming us, please learn some common courtesy and STOP SPAMMING FC INVITES.

I am so sick and tired of being spammed all day every day any time I log in. It's ruining my immersion in the game and enjoyment of the content when I have to contend with fending off invites what feels like every ten minutes sometimes. It's honestly the only thing I HATE about this game and makes me want to unsub. I'm a veteran MMO player and I have -never- dealt with such behavior from guilds towards players. And everyone in this game seems to think its okay, that it isn't rude and something you SHOULD be doing. Some of you are handing your members literal lists of unguilded players and telling them to send them the same canned commercial ads in their tells. It's beyond rude and inappropriate to be doing this.

If I want to join a Free Company, I'll come find you and review your information wherever I can find it and submit an application. Like the game was designed. Like you are supposed to do. I refuse to waste the time making a guild just to stop such inappropriate nonsense.

First off naming and shaming is a banable offense so I would remove the name of your spammer, but so is spamming these invites, so report them, its considered harassment.

There's a limit on how many people you can add to your friends list a day.

They should take that same system and apply it to FCs. But perhaps invites every so often. X every Y hours. And if the person really wants to join, they can apply or get someone else to invite.

I really doubt FC invite spammers would stop no matter how politely you asked, so you’re fighting a uphill battle here unfortunately.

Ideally they’d make it so you can block FC invites entirely, like you mentioned, wouldn’t stop tells though.

WoW was no different until they added the block invite function, and then it turned into message spam instead.

Blocking invites will just change the harassment from invite spam to message spam.

No idea how to correct such behaviour outside of getting the banhammer out and swinging it with extreme prejudice

Who cares, just deny it and move on. I, like everyone else, got a lot of invites as well before I joined an FC. Just deny and keep playing. If someone sends you one and you deny, and then the same exact person sends it again; report them. It isn't rocket science.

Well, this was a new thread for me because I hadn't been on here since it was created. Am I not supposed comment because it isn't new for others?
