New Treasure Trove Rewards: why Ixion?

Rant: I get it, you think we all want stuff handed to us to want to play the game. So, you have taken a lot of the "challenge" away in the process. Now .. i see you have made it pointless to run hard content for special rewards. I am a bit upset with the Treasure trove this time around. The whole point of some of this stuff is to be a challenge and to be a special thing once you accomplish a goal. But now.. run a few pracs and you got yourself an Ixion. Something that was very hard and time consuming to get and once you did you could puff out your chest and say YEAH I DID THAT! Now .. why bother. I get that you want everyone to have a chance, but when you remove the challenge this game becomes like all the rest.. nothing but a grind.. so.. why bother... Fix the bloat.. yes.. fix the redundancy sure.. but do not give away things that people took so much effort to get and just hand it out to everyone like it was nothing. If you continue to do that, then what is the point of adding new things.. just start giving the harder stuff away and we can all just grind fates to 80 from now on and find another MMO worth sinking our money into.

Hey. I'm using this system to get beast tribe mounts and trial mounts so i don't have to waste my time with them. I get what your saying but I like being able to get older things that would normally take a really long time. Because honestly, when is the last time you saw an announcement for Ixion? (I mean I got him in SB but just saying).

I just come to expect everything in the game regardless of how hard it took to get it will be easier to get in some form or another. It's the way it has been. I mean got mine way back when but its all good.


I am just happy CT isn't on the list anymore. Mean Alliance Roulette may end up being something from the raids from HW and StB. Sort of sick of LoTA and Srycus. Had an Orbonne run last night it took 30-40 minutes but that was due to everyone knowing the mechanics.

Ixion's not even hard content. There's no challenge in getting a small army of people to zerg a FATE down, aside from like, getting enough people interested in doing it in the first place.

I got my Ixion mount early during the SB release. Didn't think it was that hard even when it was current.. What is hard/time consuming about zerging a fate?

4) See how the poor game try so hard to show you the 153 players, 121 chocobo, 91 minions AND the boss that are now cruching each over on your screen

back in my day we had to walk 10 miles in the salt to get to an ixion fate and the stygian ash was selling for 100k! omg you whippersnappers these days! *shakes old man cane*

Ixion isn't even hard content. Neither are Susano or Zurvan EX anymore. Honestly the fact of the matter is, the older a special FATE like Ixion gets, the less interest there is since 90% of the population either already has all the rewards from when it was more relevant, or are just not interested in it. Even on more populated servers, it's a struggle to find enough people to wanna do Odin or Behemoth at times, let alone Ixion or Foxy.

This obsession some people have with wanting things to remain 'exclusive' or 'special' in some fashion just because at the time, they got it with more effort than some newbies years later do, has never made sense to me whatsoever. You already got it when it was difficult, rare and meant something way back when. New players obtaining it in an easier fashion a la a limited time event does not diminish the work you put in for it back when it was relevant.
