Lemme guess. That's part and parcel of endgame, being crapped on by "expert raiders"?

I mean I doubt anyone else here thought about where all that stress was coming from.
No, no one should put up with abuse. However I do think you were unlucky with your parties, as the majority of people are pretty decent and have patience.

Also it depends on what party you joined, people have higher expectations with farm/reclear parties than just a practice one. However this doesn't give a party an excuse to be toxic.

If you get a toxic party just leave it and try another, there are loads of PFs for Shiva Unreal atm.

There is plenty of savage or more difficult raiding for the experts, I'd just like to see MSQ group dungeons easy mode for the ones that do not raid much or at all.

What do you mean? Everything that isn't extreme or savage IS easy mode. Normal and alliance raids may cause some deaths/wipes at launch, but after a week or two, they generally go pretty smoothly too.

I won't go near hm/savage content. Getting older now after 22+ yrs of MMOing and not interested anymore, I like to relax. I get my gear from nuts/hunts for the crystarium augmented and leave it be. I just wish I could use nuts to get a comparable blue MH, tired of always having the green HQ augmented MH.

As a hardcore raider myself with ultimates cleared my opinion on this savage tier is that it has been nerfed a lot already because of the past complaints of raids being too hard compared to past tiers. E5S-E7S took me 3 days to clear all 3 of them in pugs; E8S took me a week to clear in pugs. My opinion on this is the gear is considered best in slot for a reason and savage raids should be made difficult to force people to have to work hard to earn it. The only way to improve at raiding and optimize your main class you use to raid is to just practice and prog the fights as much as you can; eventually you'll know the fights and the mechanics in the fight so much from muscle memory that you can do the fights on auto pilot and just farm them for gear. There is no better feeling than clearing your first ultimate or savage raid that you spent hours progging on putting all your effort into it in my opinion.

With that being said, I understand some people are just not into the raiding scene at all and that's completely fine. If the current savage raids are too difficult for you I highly recommend you take the time to learn and optimize your class; anyone can become a good raider as long as they put time and effort into it. You always have the option to just not raid at all if you really dislike it that much, noone is forcing you to stick it out.

There's already little enough in this game that offers a challenge, don't gut what remains.

Though Light Rampant, specifically, can die in a fire.

i wouldn't object as much to Light Rampant if it were more like Icelit Dragonsong or like E1S where you can bait specific roles for it. E8S already has enough randomness to it, a baitable Light Rampant would just make things nice and consistent (not necessarily easier, just consistent)

The issue with Light Rampant is mainly the PF's mindset. They chose to use a shit strat for it that costs you way too much uptime but since nobody actually likes standing around for 10 seconds doing nothing they either get lucky and can turn their brain off with the chain or they greed on orbs and wipe everyone.

Light Rampant isn't the problem, people are...yet again.

So quick PSA: Ilya is not a good Light Rampant strat.

Even Ilya himself says that. It was an early prog strat that turned out to be functional but not great, but inertia unfortunately means that it's the only one in Aether PF (though a couple have tried to get Ayatori parties started there)

I'm not sure Ilya's the main problem with LR. It's certainly not the optimal strat and rougher on uptime, but it's fairly safe and easy to understand. PF's problem there would be greeding on orbs or lack of focus and groups that can't get through with Ilya are probably going to wipe non-stop on other strats too.

It's a mechanic with a whole number of ways to wipe your entire team at a single slip up and it's quite hard to see who causes the wipe. It only takes one player being greedy, unfocused or just not that good at difficult mechanics to make it a wipefest. I like it as a mechanic, it's satisfying to see it go like clockwork with 8 people, but I can understand why it's a nightmare in PF.
