They are? I couldn't tell, given how the predominant "Adventurer in need" bonus switched from tank to healer. On the other hand, Klaleara, lots of folks are very happy with the current iterations of healers. They are just in the game, not on the forums for the most part. I've been healing in XIV since 2010, and I still enjoy it. So don't be swayed by anything you read here (including my own words, of course). Play the role and decide for yourself
Let's not forget the rare instances of DPS in need: 22 minutes queue but switching to healer becomes instant queue.
Honestly, the devs should just give healers a proper DPS rotation. "Pure healers" will not use it regardless if they get added, and healers who are optimally using their kit to its fullest in order to speed up fights and reduce incoming damage will. The only thing that will hurt players is those who refuses to get out of their comfort zones in order to play better and maximize contribution for their team. Learning can be difficult, and mistakes will happen when learning to heal more efficiently. Deaths & wipes could happen, but that's alright because that's part of the learning curve in this game. In the end, you get rewarded for your effort if you can incorporate it into your playstyle.
However, for players not trying to improve at all and still want to feel rewarded while putting in the minimum bare effort to clear is just... :eep: I'm not trying to discourage any players, but many of your teammates in DF just don't take it kindly when you don't attempt to utilize your full toolkit - just as how a dps is doing horrendously low damage or a tank not using their mitigations, or a healer is twiddling their thumbs and/or healing at 90% when they can be speeding up fights. That's just how playing an mmo with other players work - people will inevitably judge you for how you do. This will only get more and more apparent as you get into more difficult content. This is not a problem with the content - it's expecting a certain level of performance as the main character after you cleared -x- amount of storyline. Let it not be said the WoL has not killed anything in order to progress with MSQ because a hero's path is never just sunshine and rainbows.
