Or outright behave exclusively as a DPS (Hello 90% of my Eden 1-4 during its launch) leaving the co-healer (Me) to do pretty much all the Healing. Then have the nerve to tell me to cast more Malefics to "not hold back the group" when the run ends.I don't mind it when healers do damage. The main point of this all is when these "Healer's" think they are a DPS. They spend more time trying to DPS than healing which results in people dying which then causes a wipe. Iv'e seen it happen, healer's get into DPS'ing to much and don't heal and people die. Which causes of course, longer runs.
I have a friend like this lol. I asked him for his thoughts and he says he'll try his best to position himself, but he leaves people who keep deciding to stand all the way in Antarctica and away from healing range to their own devices. He'll heal people that accidentally get hit maybe once or twice by visible aoes, but if they get incapacitated, then they'll be on the floor for a while. I've been on the receiving end of this lmao.

People need justification for not paying attention to whatever the're doing and watching netflix on the side.
You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.

For solo content it gets very boring. However I dont see them fixing healers until 6.0
What happened to SCH was devastating and made the job no longer desireable to me.
WHM is pretty much the best deal right now.
WHM feels the best because it never had a niche to begin with, so there was nothing to prune
*cries remembering Aero III*
I'm bit 50-50 on this subject.
While I personally DPS as much I can on healer regardless of content (i don't do savage though). And encourage people do it too.
But
I don't think every healer should be -forced- into it (especially if they not comfortable with it or unsure) unless we talk about said savage and endgame content. In normal-casual content such as Roulette's, it a nice bonus but hardly a deal breaker for the other 3 people to kill the boss.
Again, should be encouraged but never forced or being harassed for not doing it except in certain scenarios.

Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my dots... and my MP management... even eye for an eye. The damage I've lost, the utility I've lost, won't stop hurting. It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you?
I have never understood the idea in this game that healers should dps in any and all content, if you are playing content that has enrage times, burn phases or just tight dps checks in general you should be pulling healers from your static/guild/linkshell healers who want to and are aware of these things and not pug healers.
If you are talking levelling roulettes or similar who cares if they don't dps I'm certain if you install a parser you will see that if the dps classes in your party were to play more optimally they could also make runs far faster singling out healers for not making runs faster when there are at least two other people whose sole purpose is to deal damage is kinda silly especially in an environment where face rolling will largely suffice.
You should never expect random people to play how you want want them too they will do whatever they want no matter how much you don't like it, if there is an easy laid back way to get a reward there will be many people taking that road.
This all pointless though the healers not willing or are to lazy to help with dps likely will likely never see this thread, just making an account here requires more effort than dps in dungeons after all.

Its called being efficient and doing your job, not expecting people to play in X way, the faster something dies the less damage it deals thats why healers should DPS as much as they can, to keep the party from dying. A nice methaphore I like when explaining this to people is medicine, if by some reason you have any illness when you take treatment you would want something that both treats the symptoms and eliminate the antigen that provokes the illness, we as healers are the same as that medicine, treat the symptoms (heal) and eliminate the antigen (dps).I have never understood the idea in this game that healers should dps in any and all content, if you are playing content that has enrage times, burn phases or just tight dps checks in general you should be pulling healers from your static/guild/linkshell healers who want to and are aware of these things and not pug healers.

And its also explained in the hall of novice and our job quests to do that so yeah, its our job too and not doing it is called being lazy.

Aha, so you guys want me as a Whitemage to throw again (be aware of German names) Stein / Steinra / Steinga / Steinka and Wind / Windra / Windga at endlevel content, yes?
In other words: You want said thing despite the stones doing all the same stuff with only difference being the strength / MP needed? And despite Wind 1 and 2 being the same as well with the exact same difference?
If this is what you want, I'd say you haven't played WHM at the time when Stone and Wind were uselessly filling the hotbar.
