New Treasure Trove Rewards: why Ixion?

Ixion was never challenging. It was just a matter of luck to be online at the right time.

It's already trivial now with world visit and cross world hunt/FATE linkshells and discords relaying the major FATEs. You're no longer limited to just the FATE on your world, you can participate on multiple worlds.

It's not a big deal for it to be one of the rewards from a limited time event.

I have never been able to catch the Ixion Fate a second time so I was stuck with half of the tokens needed for the mount for a long time. Happy that there is another way to get this done.

Join a cross world hunt/FATE discord or linkshell. Discord would be better since they're usually set up to allow you to custom filter which mentions will ping you.

Ixion's on the table because no one will help new players do the FATE? Kinda obvious, op.

That's so incorrect. There are tons of players who show up for the FATE if the word gets spread in time. Hunt discords and linkshells are especially good at relaying special FATE spawns.

The problem with Ixion is the same problem we have with Azys Lla and the Proto Ultima FATE, and Dravanian Forelands and the Coeurlregina FATEs. There's little traffic in those zones and most of that traffic is newer players who don't know what the weather change means or that the FATEs even exist.

If no one is spreading the word, no one knows to show up.

Oh come on now the only thing hard about getting that mount is finding enough people to care or watching the servers literally destabilize before your very eyes back when SB came out. I'd say to get off your high horse about it I imagine that would be in poor taste considering the context.

Just wish they’d put some of the really old pvp mounts / rewards into it now. Some weren’t playing when they were a thing and those who got them maybe aren’t playing anymore and if they are it’s been 3/4/5 yrs of exclusive. Would be better than putting mounts in that you can get with 15 mins work (arr primal) or an hr with a pf (birds/susano dog)

I think the issue is that they are tied to achievements, so I think SE is a little wary about those because either they want the achievement rewardsfor everything to exclusive, they havn't coded in interactions for when you get the achievement AFTER the item, or some other reason.

As for Feast specific stuff the other issue is that they are meant to be one-of-a-kind to incentivize doing wellin the mode.

Speaking of which, I kind wish they threw some of the older merch stuff as well, as chances are they were expired and I kinda don't think buying a psychical item is in the same vein as Ixion (ie not difficult)

Course I can understand if they refuse if they fear it opens a slippery slope into other time locked items (Feast rewards)

If there is anything older I would wish for, it would be the FFXI event items. Because I really love the headband and there's nothing else like it.

Those were event items and thus more likely to be on Mogstation
