If you read the OP, they were asking for them to be played. I wouldn't have a problem with them being NPCs.

To add onto this, in the BLU story line, the Mamool Ja who accompany the NPC to Ul'dah get a pass to enter the city on the account of, by beast men race, they simply were not registered. I am positive qiqirn would be on that list and it would break lore to have rat people with nicer fur be able to enter. Hrothgar, while a stretch, could get a pass on the account of being off Ul'dah's radar.

Final Fantasy 9 was by far my favorite one to this day, and Freya was one of my favorite characters. Her race has a lot of depth and lore that could be a lot of fun to explore in my opinion! I'm all for this!

Who knows? They might do a FF9 universe tie-in and you'll get to see them then. I've recently been doing a replay of 9 so I wouldn't be opposed to seeing them.

I'd support it. I loved the Burmecians in FF9, though I think their Dragoon niche is taken with the HW expansion no?

I kind of shitpost earlier in this thread so I just want to make it up to you by saying I endorse Burmecians or really any substantial FFIX content being added to the game. It's a fantastic game and meriting of love. Even if it was just a beast tribe I'd take it. Maybe Not-Freya can helm her own raid series, like how Not-Doga and Not-Une did before.

I would like to bump this, as I'd like to see this happen. We have too many "Human but animal ears" as a race. Personally, I wouldn't use it and would choose to use Ivalice Moogle as my player race, but Burmecian should be an option.
