IN Game Frame Rate Limiter Broken on Gsync.

    Edit - Ticket Number: 13299751

I've posted about this in May last year and haven't seen any fixes implemented yet.

When using a High Refresh rate monitor with Gsync/Freesync the game does not limit it properly.

I have a 144hz monitor. In game options are no cap, 144 fps, 72 fps etc.

Anything below 144hz kills the game FPS. For example if I set it to 72 FPS the game drops to 12 FPS. However at 144 it works fine.

I have even forced my monitor to 120 Hz in the system settings.

This allows me to choose 120, 60 and 30 in the in game limiter.

This doesn't work either. Setting it to 60 causes the game to drop to about 12 fps.

When I disable Gsync and load up the game and choose the in game limiter it works as intended. However I lose the extra smoothness from Gsync and experience in game jitter even if its running at constant 60 fps.

Now people may ask why do I want to limit my FPS? My reasoning is I see no need to run my GPU at 100% for extra thermal and power use also I occasionally stream so when my card is tapped out at 100% GPU use the streaming encoder doesn't like that since I have an Nvidia RTX card I use the New NVENC encoder. However it doesn't work so well when the card is tapped out at 100% pushing 144/120 FPS.

Every other game I play with a built in FPS limiter works fine Like WoW, Path of exile etc.

I have tried nvidia inspector and RTSS to limit in game FPS but it causes a lot of jitter as well.

So its an issue with FFXIV and Gsync/Freesync aka High refresh monitors and its been talked/complained about on the FFXIV Reddit and other FFXIV forums.

Are you guys ever going to fix this or work with Nvidia to get this fixed?
