    ERROR 2002 I TRIED EVERYTHING

God bless I finally was able to log into this forum since I was having trouble before. Now then. This is a crosspost from the gamefaqs forums but....

This happens when I login and hit start. It loads for a few seconds trying to connect to the data center before giving me this error. This happens on any data center I try to connect to. It works fine previously and I'm sure this only happened once before.
My firewall has allowed this game.
    >I tried port forwarding.
    >I contacted my ISP and they have connection to the server.
    >I had my friend login on their computer and they are able to login fine.
    >I factory reset my computer and reset my router/modem twice.
    >I I've reinstalled the game 4 times at this point and am at a lost.
It sucks I can't get live support cause pandemic.
I was able to login fine this past weekend so I'm not sure what happened that affected this. I vaguely recall a small patch this week but I'm unsure. This is going on since Tuesday (possibly more) of this persisting issue.
The only thing suspicious is this report I got when using tracert to the aether server IP to see what it reads.

Other things I have tried include
    >Disable Dos Protection and Portscan
    >Connecting directly to modem
    >Contact ISP

SE Support also got back to me saying

Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don’t use Internet Explorer). Please do not use Microsoft Edge for these steps, as that is a different Internet platform.
Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the Internet Explorer browser’s “Internet Options” by clicking on the “Tools” option (or type Alt+X), then click on the “Internet options” setting. Please adjust the following settings:

    - Under the General tab, please delete ALL browsing history by clicking on the “Delete…” button, then selecting all of the options and clicking “Delete” again.
    - Under the Security tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible setting, or no higher than “Medium.”
    - Under the Privacy tab, look for the Settings section and click on “Advanced,” then Accept First-party Cookies and Third-party Cookies, then check the box that says, “Always allow session cookies” and click OK.
    - Under the Advanced tab, look for the Settings section and scroll towards the bottom of the list and check on the setting under Security for “Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid.”
    - Under the same section, make sure that all ‘Use TLS’ options (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are checked. [Use SSL 3.0 should be unchecked]

Just to make sure it wasn't hardware specific I tried logging into my laptop and it also had the same issue.
I also had a friend login to my account for me at his house with no issues.

This month's subscription is just wasting away and idk what to do and it got me a lil depressed. Why would after playing for the past year with no issues (save for random disconnects) suddenly stop working? The only thing that could have affected the game I had was textools but I did factory reset my PC anyways and still didn't work so I'm unsure what to do at this point.

TLDR: Got error 2002 all of a sudden for the past week after having no issues with the game and tried literally every method that you can find on the internet to help solve this issue with no luck. Really sad now.

I tried to quell my curiosity and tried using one of those free VPNs.

    SURPRISE IT WORKS

I don't want to rely on using VPN tho is it possible to change my static IP for my PC with the same effect?

Got off ISP with highest elevation.

Everything appears to be fine after they checked. So this is going back to SE doing something to my home network it seems.

Never thought it would get this far. Damn.

They told me to contact SE but I'm still wary of my ISP.

I decided to try mobile tethering again and I'm in!
This is a serious ISP problem. I can imagine now.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for the delay in our response.

Based on the information you provided, I agree that the issue most likely lies with your ISP. This means I can only suggest contacting them again and making a report.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
