Okay the Red Mage quests has a scenario where we are tasked with exploring Gubal in search of a book, this post however is not about said book, but instead the red herrings that led up to the final fight there. the other 5 books. I want o ask about the contents of such books and discussion on them and their place in the lore (if any)

The Dutiful Knight
In the Year 960 of the Sixth Astral Era, a murder did occur wherein a member of the clergy was struck down by a knight of common birth. The knight, whose name was Tryphaniel, whet his blade in the priest's blood after witnessing the unspeakable abuse of an orphan waif under the pretense of an “exorcism.” May his conviction in the face of corrupted faith be praised!

Officials publicly suggested that the murderer selected targets based upon divination. As several key figures of a faction that opposed the royal house were prominent amongst the victims, however, it was whispered that the seemingly random slaughter was merely a cover for political assassinations.

Today I visited the Twelveswood. Lady Amandine of the Dartancours, a regular patron of mine, bid me call upon her household. I set off with confidence, my latest masterpiece in hand, but it was within the walls of Haukke Manor that I beheld the true pinnacle of perfection...

One of many, many pieces of a puzzle in this game which, when compiled, tell the story of a Gridanian goldsmith who became obsessed with voidsent and dreamed of using Lady Amandine (the woman) as a host for a succubus. Ironically, Lady Amandine's corpse would become host to a succubus by her own doing, but he would not get to fulfill his..uh...ambitions. (He made the vast majority of minions based on sexy voidsent if you read the item descriptions and log entries.)
