it’s wild how no ones addressing a lot of the post critically, most of the replies just boiled down to “it’s not a problem, deal with it or unsub” or “your a troll for wanting this game you pay for to be better”

it’s scary how common this is, on both the forums and reddit

It's a form of gas-lighting, mostly. It's certainly true that some posters could stand to be much more civil in regards to their contributions to the forum. Yet at the same time, even when posters are incredibly polite and constructive they often face the same response - assuming they even get a response in the first place.

There's also something of a weird shadow war going on in the background at times. As another poster pointed out earlier on within this very thread, there's a Twitter blog devoted to quoting people from this site which usually leads to the account's followers seeking the quote out and essentially attacking it within the thread.

I've seen posters make a perfectly reasonable suggestions or statements in a thread only to be attacked because whoever runs that particular Twitter account decided that they didn't like it.

There's many other issues too, such as the community representatives rarely posting on this forum after their initial introduction posts. Or responding to legitimate concerns raised by the community, such as the long overlooked post found here:

Which, objectively is a pretty valid subject to be addressed as a high priority. Especially when this isn't the first time that European players have been left out of promotional campaigns for exclusive items.

Even the dev team doesnt care anymore. The NPCs all turn, laugh, wave, at the exact same time like sync'd robots, and every roulette is the same thing over and over, cause they cant be bothered to make more content. Its been 7 years and we've only gotten 2 Grand Company ranks, and dont get anymore battle leves, only one dungeon per patch, but we keep getting job and now crafter and gatheirng revamps. Like is the game suffereing that bad that none of the jobs or classes are balanced or fun, they have to completely remake every job and class every expansion? Who is even asking for these changes?

Its funny because its true. xD

Crafting revamp just made RMT bots job easier to earn GIL, and made it worse for all rest of players.
It was an ultimately unneeded and unfun thing they have implemented in the long time. Crafting is not fun, making gil is, but how in the hell are you going to make gil if the market if bloated with bots beating price on every single item?
The latest patches crafting based are complete waste of time and money, instead of more battle content 90% of players came for, nah lets make crafting for the niche minority that is doing it only for gil.
Also its really discouraging if you realize how much effort is being put in housing, instead of fixing viera and hrothgar issues, instead of giving us more hairstyles and upgrading the oldest character creator in mmorpg history how about you get some completely useless stuff into your house where you already cant place anymore items hmm?

Devs are doing everything in their power to not do stuff that majority is asking for, even fixing hilarious 2B glamour bugs took them a couple of months.

Just so you're aware, there's a pandemic going on right now, and while the devs by rights shouldn't be working on the game at all right now, they are doing it anyway. People really should stop being entitled, because they at least deserve a thank you.
Also, crafting is not niche. Everyone has access to it and unlocks it at some point. Leveling crafters is easier than ever before, maybe you should give it a whirl. I used to fucking hate crafting, but Ishgardian Restoration made it SO much more bearable.
I'm also of the mind that Viera and Hrothgar should be genderlocked, and they should not be a priority. Specifically because there's no male Viera in FFXII nor are there female Ronso in FFX, and there's reasons for that. You keep bringing up stuff that's, like, extremely minor. Like upgrading the character creator? Who is actually asking for that? Besides, they do add more hairstyles on a regular basis, don't know why you would think otherwise. Housing needs special attention because of how awful the market is.

They are still working on the game for us, despite the hard times we're going through right now, and we should be grateful for that. That's all I said. Never said I was offended, or the post was at me. Just me saying that the way your posts are structured, pretty much would just irritate who you're talking to, instead of actually potentially persuading them to see things in a different light. In the end provide zero productive influence over the thread, instead just throwing gasoline on a fire.

As for Covid, I certainly hope they are working. They are lucky to be a technology based company, where they can continue to work and make money safely at home. I do not believe Japan is one of the companies that suspended mortgage payments/bills in general. Either way, Covid is not really a reason to stop any critique. It's not like the OP is demanding a resolution by next week.

Specifically because there's no male Viera in FFXII nor are there female Ronso in FFX, and there's reasons for that.

The former is only technically correct: There are no male Viera NPCs in Final Fantasy 12. However, they do explicitly exist in the Ivalice setting's lore.
The latter is absolutely false. Not only are there multiple female Ronso in Final Fantasy 10, but you can interact with them and even recruit some of them onto your Blitzball team.

I mean, everyone playing has different interests and priorities, it kinda comes with the MMO territory. I know people who've gone days in row doing nothing but crafting. Some people just enjoy it. Some people are here for the story and friends more than the combat. Giving more things to do is absolutely not, imo, a waste of time. Having an absolute ton of crap to do is a huge part of why I played WoW for 15 years, and the only reason I'm not anymore is because of some of the downright head scratching decisions Blizz has made over the last few years.

Also, effort into housing? The only effort I've seen is them adding more housing items, which they've always done, and while I do enjoy them greatly, the housing system itself is still an absolute freaking mess they've done close to nothing to address the core problems for, only slapping mediocre band-aid on top of mediocre band-aid. The actual improvements, while good, are few and far between. I agree the character creator needs an update, and the Viera and Hrothgar situation is one of the biggest negatives I have on this expansion right now, but let's not pretend any of that effort is going into housing of all places.

I don't agree with everything the dev team is doing, and in fact disagree with their choices and stance on several things, but I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say they don't care about the game.

The forums have almost always been pretty bad, but literally, this person recently posts about "raids becoming less optional." Instead of discussing how content is becoming less optional the thread is hijacked by people saying Alliance raids are not raids. Like seriously? Who cares, the person didnt say "alliance raids are too hard" they said, that its no longer an option. Which if you want to do just the story, you should be able to. Nothing else is forced on you. You dont have to do FATEs, or Leves, or crafting to complete the story. Imagine if everything became required to complete to progress the story. I bet you'd all be complaining. Imagine end game raiders being forced to get all max level crafters and participate in Ishgard restoration, and Eureka just to unlock a raid, you'd all be crying to no end. You all complain having to do the story in the first place already.

You're already required to do dungeons to progress in the story, and that's already something people complain about and I know someone personally who quit directly because of the two being inseparable

Anyway people are people, more news at 11 I guess?
