There's already a genre of games where you can rhythmically press one button over and over again until your fingers cramp. They're called clickers and idle games.

And THOSE games have more complexity than current healers.

"It's so simple! It's so popular! I don't like managing anything else!" are all either excuses or total nonsense. White Mage has been designed like gutter trash for several expansions now. Pressing one button over and over and over again IS the class's gameplay when you develop any level of skill with it. It's insulting. It's boring. I'd rather watch paint dry. I'm not the only person who thinks this about job design. Where is OUR fun? As far as I can tell, Sylphies are only happy so long as literally everyone else hates the way jobs are designed. As far as I'm concerned, there's no actual productive discussion between the two vaguely-defined "sides". Sylphies won't brook with ANY improvements to job design. NO! No complexity! No fun! Stop trying to do anything but dance emote and spam cure! If you don't like it, get out of the role! Gaining skill is bad! Improving your uptime is for nerds! I want to heal ONLY! FF14 is one of those fidget tools for keeping your fingers busy while you binge Netflix shows. Increasing the skill ceiling above pressing a healing oGCD once a minute is for dirty hardcore players!

I like being useful to my party, and being good at being useful to my party. Having risks and rewards. I don't like performing a task that a three line script could handle. I'm just a Trust NPC at that point.
