That being said, I agree with the callout programs, but I think actual people doing it is fine because it encourages voice chat and that encourages fun shenanigans and dumb jokes that make raids nights memorable aside from "We got the clear on xx day"

I agree wholeheartedly.
I cannot understate how much more enjoyable things are when I can laugh and joke about with my friends.
And MMO is largely a vehicle we socialize through, so those fun shenanigans really feels like the meat and popotoes of my experiences.
