A summary of healer issues

Cause you can replace a dps quick. Getting new tanks/healers is not the same. Those jobs need to be as encouraging to everyone as possible because there are too many shoes to fill and not enough warm bodies to fill them.

but as said u need to keep them in the job otherwise u will never see an increase which is the complains about. if the job is not engaging ppl max it and leave it forever maybe even not maxing but drop it mid leveling cause tbh the job in this case role they all boring which is the major complain and given yoshi-p statement that none of the healer issues will ever be address basically means they are being ignored on purpose. you cant expect healers main to not get mad over that do you?

You guys really do not know how satisfying broil feels to spam i know it sounds like bait but it’s th me truth. not really if the job kit and mechanics don't have a flow and the only thing it can do is function with a grain of salt or have bugs in it which ruins the experience(fairy ghosting and pet delayed casts).
you want to take it easy with the job you play its fine, you play as you want but as said just cause you want to play it easy does not mean that the job itself should have that bare min only.
meaning a proper set of skills that allow to do bare min with ease while actually being able to push the job to its max and making you feel your mastering it should be at different levels of accomplishment.
basically meaning a job should cater to both: u can be you and do 1 button spam,we can be us and have that one button be much more responsive in the kit and allow us to push the job to its limits both dps and healing time although dps isnt the right thing healers want but the more general term as engaging downtime(includes support skills such as buff/debuffs, maybe have skills that alter our 1 button spams to different types of spams etc)

That's genuinely not the case. I could pull 1000 DPS at the start of HW in Neverreap (and got a forum ban for making a guide on how I did it). Even when running with competent raiders, they weren't out DPSing me unless they were on Summoner.

We don't have numbers about that sadly, probably numbers are higher just because the population increased a lot during Shb but I bet not much and in proportion there are less healers than were in the past, proof being how in any satisfaction survey jobs like Sch or Ast were at the bottom how nowadays "Healer in need" is far more frequent than what it was back then or how even in raiding scenes healers are on high demand due to how little there are (Just checked ERC for example and 10 out of the 17 most recent statics lfm are looking for healers, the closest second is melee dps with 5 out of 17)

Not even just the top tier, experienced healers. It feels like in the interviews they are trying to push us all to Sage.

Maybe because smashing one button on your keyboard isn't fun or compelling to a lot of players? Believe me, it's not. Even the most die hard healers who play this game and stay with their Jobs don't think Glare/Broil spamming is fun. Healing in this game isn't that hard, and adding 2 or 3 dps spells to WHM and SCH won't make them suddenly complex or a hard to learn. Learning the mechanics of the fight is what makes or breaks a healer. Going into a fight not knowing when to heal is exhilarating but once you get all the mechanics down and know exactly when to pop your heals, and coupled with the fact that you slowly out-gear the fight too, sooner or later all you will be doing is just spamming that 1 dps skill which gets dull and boring over time.

All I get from your comments is arrogance and ignorance. It seems you don't understand why the players in these forums are upset or why everyone so critical of healer job design. Too much negativity is bad, but it doesn't change the fact that players like Deceptus, Sebazy, and Recon, who have records of clearing the most difficult fights in the game, still want FFXIV to succeed but don't like the direction that SE has made when it comes to healers.

And for the record, Sage doesn't look that complex either. It's still mostly 1 button spam, though SE did a good job in fleshing out it's dps and healing skills to make it seem it's more interesting. I suspect that it will be a well received Job in the healer community once Endwalker comes out.

I'm not the best healer, but in a green parse Diamond EX I looked at my GCD usage. 95%+ of my GCD's were DPS as SCH with only 6 GCD heals used with over 100 DPS casts (one healing GCD at start to deploy Adlo) and had only 14% over heal. That tells me from the interviews I guess I'm supposed to switch to Sage even though I'm nowhere near top tier.
