I would be willing to bet that it's the least number in comparison to any other job, and it took the longest to clear. So it could make it interesting for someone from an achievement point of view (i.e. they want to complete it on all jobs) - but it could be really off-putting for many people who find it a miserable slog. Which is similar to other things that you might want to solo on an AST- are they possible? Yes- are they fun? - not necessarily, in comparison to other jobs.

As someone with the Necromancer title, the added difficulty from running Palace on AST isn't even the interesting kind. On the higher floors you're doing what other classes do: carefully selecting enemies, pulling one at a time, and kiting. You have excellent sustain being a healer with Essential Dignity and all that. The main problem with a job that has terrible output is running into the time limit. It's like, woohoo, it's "harder" because it takes for flippin' ever to kill enemies and you run out of time because...it takes so long to kill them. Clearing Palace solo with any job is difficult, AST just adds even more boredom on top of that.

I'd be more impressed by a BLM who made it past the Behemoth boss solo. That boss requires that you play your class as close to perfectly as you can in order to not die to the Ecliptic Meteor casts. That's impressive. Managing to sprint to the next enemy fast enough so you can sneeze it to death with Malefic I suppose is impressive too...at least impressive that you managed to stay alert for long enough to keep your momentum going.
