I don't even like shield healers but you better believe I will be playing sage so I have more than 2 buttons to press while doing the MSQ.

It's almost the same as WHM except Phlegma is on the GCD while Assize is on the OGCD. This isn't "an extra button" at all, it's a OGCD shoved onto the GCD instead of part of a basic combo or some other form of rotational use.

Sadly, we are likely to go live with the potencies as presented in the media tour, I'd certainly hope not, but small changes like those would be very welcome.

i wish sage had gotten eukrasian dyskrasia as an aoe dot that does a bit more potency than dosis. its such a wasted opportunity.
I think sage is better then whm when it comes too dmg dealing, ofc whm has PoM every 2 mins but he still need too use Lily’s and other gcd stuff because he has still the worst ogcd options. Sage always heals the main tank all the time, so it’s a free Regen tick every 2.5 seconds and he has a lot of ogcd tools. Also he has a dash and 2 charges of plegma has 2 charges so you actually have some ok options for movement situations. No matter what game I play, be it RTS, MMO, MOBA, FPS, the most popular characters/races/classes are almost always the most mechanically complex ones because they're much more engaging to play. It's an absurd notion to think that mechanical complexity would drive players away and not utterly tedious button smashing.
It’s more or less the side dmg healer vs pure healer here in ff 14. I mean in the early ARR days no healer did dmg. That changed hard when people did twintania and healer dmg effectively skipped a lot of mechanics. The problem is people like to compare ff 14 too wow for whatever dumb reason but we both know that wows fight design has way more consistent dmg that pulses throughout the entire fight we’re in comparison ff 14 has specific timings for some bosses we’re the dmg spikes but expect also some dots abilities it’s not consistent dmg.No matter what game I play, be it RTS, MMO, MOBA, FPS, the most popular characters/races/classes are almost always the most mechanically complex ones because they're much more engaging to play. You also have to keep in mind that, for some inexplicable reason, you have a lot of people that play this game like Habbo Hotel with better graphics.
They couldn't care less about how the jobs play, the combat is most likely just an inconvenience when all you do is chat with people and dress up your character.
