Weathered job items

Greetings.

Has there been anything officially said about why they aren't adding upgraded options for the Wethered class items anymore?
It's been a long time since they had anything like that.
The Job sets are some of the better looking in the game imo. So it lays heavy on me to see that I am not able to dye them any longer.

I wish that they would give up that option again to upgrade them, even if the item itself won't be BiS it would at least give us more cosmetic choices.

Are you talking about AF4 gear sets, or previous ones?

In general all the Job sets which doesn't have an upgraded option.
I can't exactly remember when they stopped giving those out. But I think it was during Heavensward?
So after that I guess?

Stopped? All AF gear sets, of base game and all expansions, can be upgraded to their dyeable versions

- Dyeable AF1 sets are obtained in Mor Dhona (requires crafted items).
- Dyeable AF2 sets are obtained in Idyllshire (requires items from Centurio Vendor in Ishgard)
- Dyeable AF3 sets are obtained in Eureka Anemos (requires many upgrades, and a truckload of crystals from Notorious Monsters FATEs)
- Dyeable AF4 sets are obtained in Mor Dhona (requieres drop from Memoria Misera (Extreme) )

Hmm.. I will have to look into this.
Been quite some time since I really delved into FFXIV so not surprised I might've missed it.
I am just sure that I didn't see any upgradeable/dyeable AF stuff since Heavensward.

• ARR's AF 1 was a level 45/50 quest reward that can be augmented to be dyeable (chests pieces would also glow) with a crafted token. AF 1.5 was the original capped tomestone gear (It is now available from tokens from Snowcloak, Sastasha(Hard) and Qarn (hard)).
• HW AF 2 was HW's first capped tomestone gear. They are unweathered with tokens from Alex(Savage)/Centurio Seals/Void Ark Coins.
• StB AF 3 was a level 70 quest reward that are upgraded (3 times) to be dyeable with Anemos crystals (from Eureka Anemos).

As for the current i430 Weathered AF4 gear, while Memoria does give out the dyeable i480 Idealized AF 4 with 5 slots, I suspect that the upcoming Bozjan Southern Front will have a system that will allow the Weathered i430 to be upgraded to be dyeable.

As others said, they still exist, they're just a lot harder to track down if you don't know where to look for them.

The upgrade shops in ARR and HW are fairly out in the open and obvious, but SB's is inside Eureka (so you'll never see it if you don't start that content) and ShB isn't an upgrade at all, but acquired from variable coffers that give you gear for your current job - so even if you find the shop (back in Mor Dhona with the tome gear vendors) you won't see any of the actual gear and can't try it on, or even recognise it as upgraded weathered gear.

Perhaps this is a stupid question, but did you try some more specialized searches? I threw some quirk generic terms into Google like "ffxiv dye level 80 artifact gear", then picked the option to filter it down to the past month, and it showed up with that filter. I say this because these persistent games are moving at a hundred malms a minute and new stuff is being added all the time, which not only creates a lot of search noise as a game bloats up, but also means the new stuff might be a little obstructed.

I think this would make sense - though it might be available through another route too since they said you wouldn't necessarily have to do the instance for your relics.

In any case we've still (hopefully!) got to get dyeable versions of the weapons that come with the weathered sets, since the relics "replaced" them for the dyeable gear release and they don't all match the theme.

Is there a way to dye the 1.5 stuff I’m missing? Like the Scholar’s Argute set?
