Where is DK sword in inventory

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I've searched all over forums and internet and can't find an answer. I main a lvl 62 WM and played a few of the introductory DK quests. I'd like to pick them up again but I need to switch my class to DK and as I understand the way to do that is to switch to the DK weapon. Currently, I can't find a DK weapon anywhere in my inventory. The soul crystal is there but it won't let me equip it until I've changed classes. I went looking for the original quest giver in Ishgard to possibly redo it but he's not there. Apologies if this is supposed to be somewhere else or if the answer is blindingly obvious lol

The usual place should be in the Arsenal [Control+I on PC] under weapons but it actually can be whereever. Maybe you have put it into your inventory. Maybe you have sold it. Maybe you have put it somewhere else. Maybe you gave it to a retainer.

But don't worry, you can always buy another sword.

You might have thrown it out? In which case you just need to buy a new one.

But first, sort your inventories. The armoury chest and main inventory both order weapons first, starting with tanks. So if you still have a DRK sword you'll find it somewhere up the top, just after any PLD swords and WAR axes you're also carrying.

Also, while you can switch classes by equipping the weapons directly, it's a much better idea to save it as a gear set. Then you can switch classes without the awkward "suddenly undressed" bit.

If you're referring to the great sword you were given automatically as part of the quest, it's not a rare weapon so it can easily be disposed or sold on the Market Board, so you may have accidentally disposed of it ages ago.

Not to worry though, as it's easily replaced, you can buy it on the Market Board under 'Dark Knight Arms', plus there is a npc that sells the same weapon (along with weapons for AST and MCH), it's the woman in the winter wear standing with her back to the player near the counter in the Forgotten Knight tavern in Ishgard's Foundation (she is the npc that also provides gear repairs there).

Buying it on the MB might be preferable though, as it is also craftable by BSM and so you can get the HQ version with slightly better stats that way to the normal version gained in the original Job quest (and what is sold at the npc stores).

Actually, no. The intial level 30 weapons for DRK, MCH, and AST are not craftable and do not have a HQ version.

I had to check because that sounds strange. You need to be able to get a new one if you discarded it before you could equip anything else, or you're stuck.

It seems you can't craft it (very odd) but you can buy it from NPC weapon shops in the starter cities and Ishgard, and also from the merchant at the Forgotten Knight who sells DRK weapons. The AST/MCH equivalents would be available from the guild merchants.

But then again OP said that he/she already has done a few quests and may has gained a few levels, which means there could be a higher level sword available.

Right, I was sure it could be crafted too (because after all, it can be sold on the MB), and I'm certain I saw a HQ version of the equivelant MCH weapon the Steel-barrelled Carbine on the MB ages ago.... but according to the Lodestone MistakeNot is correct (no recipe is shown for the starting level 30 Ishgard Job weapons and no 'HQ version' button is visible on their Lodestone pages). So I don't know, maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Anyway, thank you for that clarification MistakeNot.
