    Japanese Error when Game Tries to Launch

    Hi all!

    I'm sure there's a thread for this already that I'm just not seeing, so if there is, please feel free to point me in the right direction! I looked and didn't really see specifically what I was looking for.

    Without going into too many details about my PC troubles, last night I was advised to roll my system back to Windows 7 to try to fix a couple problems (it's kind of an old PC), which meant wiping the system and starting fresh. Totally not a problem. I finally get all of the Windows updates out of the way and install FFXIV, just to get an error when the game tries to launch. The best part is, it's in Japanese and I can't copy/paste the text into google translate for even a small idea on what it means. I do recognize that it says stuff about DirectX11, which I checked to make sure I have and is working properly, and it seems to be fine on that front.

    TL;DR: Fresh install of the game has it trying to launch and giving me an error in Japanese, but my DirectX11 is working properly. What do I do?

    I think I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling just to see if that fixes it. Rip 2 hours of my time though lol. I'll report back if something changes but my hopes aren't too high tbh.
