Serious help needed with Dancer

I have never played dance before so I thought I would try it ,what an idiot , within a minute or so it tales me from Limsa to Costa where it starts me of supposedly dancing for
a guy they want funds from it says start dancing,how? doesn't tell me anything about what to do it says take 2 steps then use a big finish,there are steps in my hotbar but no finish so how am I supposed to know what to do, I am in a dance floor on a beach with a ring of fire around it so I cannot leave there

To perform step, use Lv.15 ability "Standard Step" (Yellow foot icon) then you will have to press your steps action in order and then press "Standard Step" again. (the skill will be changed to Standard Finish"

You might need to rearrange your hotbars so you can see all your dance skills - there are four that will change to dance moves while in Step mode and the right one to press will light up. (I thought it prompts you with the skill names in the tutorial, but maybe you just missed it.)

Yeah, when i unlocked this class and it dumped out a hotbar for me it was an absolute mess. Put Cascade, Fountain, Reverse Cascade, and Fountainfall together. Those are your single target combo, along with your dance moves(when you start dancing their names change to reflect that they are now dance steps). Fan dance can go near them. Next i would put Windmill, Bladeshower, Rising Windmill, and Bloodshower together(fan dance 2, similarly, can go nearby) as these are your AoE combo. Finally, find an easy to access place to stick Standard Step(leave room nearby for Technical Step). As the others have said, you start dancing by doing a Step move(standard being the one you start with). This greys out all your abilities except for the four dance moves and the step you used to start dancing, it also gives you a move sequence to try to perform. You end dancing by performing your Step move a second time(which will have its name changed to a Finish), or it will end on its own if you run out of time(you get 15 seconds to dance which is far more then you should ever really need). Finishing a dance unleashes a powerful AoE attack and applies a buff, both of which are more powerful the more dance steps you did correctly.
