Yeah, I think this is where I was doing wrong. As others said, they still exist, they're just a lot harder to track down if you don't know where to look for them.
The upgrade shops in ARR and HW are fairly out in the open and obvious, but SB's is inside Eureka (so you'll never see it if you don't start that content) and ShB isn't an upgrade at all, but acquired from variable coffers that give you gear for your current job - so even if you find the shop (back in Mor Dhona with the tome gear vendors) you won't see any of the actual gear and can't try it on, or even recognise it as upgraded weathered gear.
I guess I was just too focused on it being upgradeable in ways like it always used to, with tomes and such.
But it seems each generation have a different way of acquiring it.
Thanks everyone for your help.
I've been so lost for so long, not thinking they actually had dyeable versions.
I was just looking in the wrong places.
Nope. Prolly becuase they were already palette swaps and thus seen as redundant in terns of dyability.
I'm kind ahoping for the ability to just upgrade the Weather gear into their idealized forms becuase A: I doubt they'll be giving us another dyable AF set wave for similar reasons and B: it might allow players to catch up faster, even is it was still tied to the Save the Queen story and thus Eureka 2.0
Part of the Idealized gear's reward is actually the 5 materia slots so I doubt that anything that unweathers the i430 gear will turn it into the i480 Idealized version. I more suspect that it will end up i500 or i510 gear with 2 materia slots making it suitable for entry into 6.0.I'm kind ahoping for the ability to just upgrade the Weather gear into their idealized forms becuase A: I doubt they'll be giving us another dyable AF set wave for similar reasons and B: it might allow players to catch up faster, even is it was still tied to the Save the Queen story and thus Eureka 2.0
Or basically, why I only have AF1 and AF2 dyable sets.Stopped? All AF gear sets, of base game and all expansions, can be upgraded to their dyeable versions
- Dyeable AF1 sets are obtained in Mor Dhona (requires crafted items).
- Dyeable AF2 sets are obtained in Idyllshire (requires items from Centurio Vendor in Ishgard)
- Dyeable AF3 sets are obtained in Eureka Anemos (requires many upgrades, and a truckload of crystals from Notorious Monsters FATEs)
- Dyeable AF4 sets are obtained in Mor Dhona (requieres drop from Memoria Misera (Extreme) )

Wow we live in a world where AF gear would be relegated to Poetics.
Considering the pattern with Poetic sets I think the i500 gear would likely be Eulmore themed, but I wouldn't complain it did turn out to be AF gear.
EDIT: Wait I just realized we're still in 5.2, and there is a wave after i510. NVM

The i90 (AF 1.5) and i200/i210 (AF 2) sets were original tomestone gear.
The Augmented Crystarium/Edenchoir gear is i500. i510 is going to be the ilevel of the patch 5.4 normal mode raid gear. 5.4/5.5 Augemented Tomestone/Savage gear is going to be i530. i500/i510 is likely going to be 6.0's minimium effective ilevel for the first leveling dungeon.Considering the pattern with Poetic sets I think the i500 gear would likely be Eulmore themed, but I wouldn't complain it did turn out to be AF gear
They shouldn't be redundant though, because they changed patterns and details. I like the i90 summoner coat because the belts are a nicer colour and there's a pattern on the hem of the tunic
Agreed. The best parts about the i90 relic armors is that they have the best color schemes on the parts u cant dye/change in the augmented AF1 gear. Such as the glowing lights in DRG AF, which cant be dyed off of purple, but relic has them as blue.
(Side note, the NPCs in the game refer to the i90 gear as Relic Armor, and the i45/50 gear as Artifact Armor)
