Yes, doing dungeons where EVERY DAY IN EVERY DUNGEON there is at least 1 in the group (they always have 1-2 friends/FC members covering for them so they could avoid being kicked) does basically nothing and watches netflix or something sucks. I can barely stomach doing dungeons with these lazy twats when there is 3 of them but 24? hell no. i have some 1100 dungeons i have done on this character alone and i can say with confidence that about 40-60 of them had people all doing their jobs properly. thanks you for reminding me how much i hate people, i just decided that i'm going to take a break when my sub ends anyway. Hmph.

You're giving yourself heart palpitations over nothing. Just chill, the alliance raids - every single one - are faceroll easy. You're being asked to do one set, one time. That doesn't set a precedent for anything. And do indulge me, if difficulty isn't the problem - what is? Because there isn't one, near as I can see, pretty much everyone who's angry about CT being mandatory is making up something to be mad about.

Alliance raids are literally just dungeons with 2 other parties. It's like complaining about having to do Sastasha to advance in the MSQ. And if dungeons are a problem why would someone even touch a Final Fantasy game??

If you feel that strongly about it, I gotta ask, why the hell are you playing an MMO? Dealing with bad players is inevitable in the experience.

And there are two options to deal with them: leave the group and wait your 30min lockout timer(if you get it), or put on the big boy/girl pants and get the run finished with, and likely NEVER see them again after that.

I always raise my eyebrows in disbelief at these kind of posts because this isnt something I see to frequently. Yes, I have had dungeon runs where someone was just afk-dpsing. I think most everyone has whos been doing this game for a while. But I dont have absurd experiences where 95% of my 1000+ runs had people just afking around.

No, typical run experience is most everyone is doing stuff and pushing to get the dungeon done asap. Does that mean everyone is doing perfect rotations and going maximum ham? No. It means everyone is doing functional dps. Some runs are better than others, but an overwhelming most of my runs had full participation.

And you know what, if I run into that afk kind of player in dungeons, I typically vote kick them about half way through. Cause frankly, most players in the game dont tolerate freeloaders to well. I just dont see this kind of "Omg all these freeloaders" thing happening. Maybe Im the luckiest player in the game and I just keep getting decent people.

And really talking how it's easy again, didn't we go over this already? The answer is yes. Not all MMO developers are stupid enough to force any kind of grouping, although most have some need to "encourage" it. And of course "encourage" means that it's crap or takes a thousand years to do solo, which is as i said a game developers wet dream come true.
While it's true FFXIV has forced grouping in the form of dungeons and trials, if i couldn't deal with that i would have stopped playing a long time ago. I have played for years and only now have i started paying attention to other peoples gameplay. It is really sad. I'm still curious about my question: why pay for a game if it's too boring to play? I have asked this from some people, the only answer is silence or some excuse, or the usual "ahhh, are u mad bro? hawhawhaw" *sigh*.
Reasons why people don't want to raid/group don't matter at all. As i said, if you want to you can group up, if you don't want to you shouldn't have to, simplicity itself (or would be if you people didn't try your very best to ignore reality). I'm sure if FCs became mandatory too it would not be a problem for you, but i don't want anything to do with any of it or anyone.
If you have been lucky with your groups that is good for you. I know that people are always lazy in any and every MMO because they can and there is no punishment for being more or less a burden for other people.
You can keep pretending not to get the obvious, but that won't change the obvious. It would be a poor desicion, you know why, i know why, everyone knows why and you are never going to change my mind and as i said, if it becomes required to progress then i stop playing for good.
I play this game to waste time anyway so it's no big loss but Of course i don't want to do all the work for some prick who is not even paying attention. If you are all OK with it, it's no wonder all game developers are devolving into lazy people themselves, always lovingly fondling the low-hanging fruit and shoving their playstyle and views down your throath, which you enjoy i would guess based on all of this.
This just proves what i have always known, that arguing is pointless no one is going to change their mind, no one is going to try to see the other persons point of view. Just whining on whining which proves nothing except that i was right all along to never join a forum and i'm going to go back to doing that right now.
Also, people are angry? Heh, i didn't know you can read minds through your computer screen. there is nothing to be mad about. either SE does it or they gain an epiphany and do not, simple really.

Are video games in general not build in the concept of unlocking things as you progress? Especially RPG and even more so MMORPGs. People need to stop being Entitled and LAZY!!!! and do something that takes at most 20-40mins an instance once

The alliance raids are baby mode... If it required say clearing Savage mode or an EX-trial I would understand it, but I mean come on...

There is a third option, but it requires patience (in that you have to be 100% sure they're expecting you to carry them) and a majority. If someone is clearly just expecting other people to carry them through the dungeon, then you can kick them. Team based game and all that.

Im not a great raider but I do do the content when possible. Yes, I actually do enjoy the difficulty and the thrill of beating a fight. It's fun to do it with friends as well. It can be a headache and yes PF can be cancer some days, but overall it is an experience that I like. Maybe I'm a masochist deep down. But thats something I find interesting. It's not for everyone, so it's fine if people dont want to be hardcore players. I have my gripes about dropping hte skill floor overall, but that doesnt mean that my point is 100% valid and above reproach. I think the game would benefit more from raising the skill floor gradually.

That being said, what a wall of text. What exactly are you witching about? You dont like grouping up with people because you think most everyone is mooching off your hard efforts? Because everyone else is a slacker (except you of course) or that you just have that terrible luck that the gods of DF and PF seem to just keep sticking you with the nose pickers? Geez. What a distorted and resentful view.

And the reason why people arent receptive to your PoV is because your abrasive, over generalizing, and frankly come off as angry. Maybe take a breather and rethink things. You can feel strongly, but atleast dont be hyperbolic. I dont believe that 95% of your runs were junk with afkers because thats not realistic. Ive run more dungeons than you if all you got under your belt is 1100 and I have no where near that bad a rate. The only way you get a 95% figure is if your standards for your fellow player is unrealistic. Where you expect players to behave like every dungeon and trial and raid is UCoB and needs that level of concentration and ability.

Yogg-Saron 0 Lights

Man, 10man yogg 0 lights was such a fun fight because of the way things broke down with who had to do what. One fight where 25man felt less rewarding.

Ulduar as a whole for 10mans was fantastic. I looked forward to 10mans that expansion, and 25mans were basically just for loot.
